Too Dark

(Takes place episode 10)

Eli stirred awake in the middle of the night, a sense of pure terror overtaking her as she realised it was pitch black.

This isn't good... I have to go to the bathroom... Eli bit her lip, glancing to her sides.

Eli gulped, grabbing her flashlight from beneath her pillow.

Flicking it on, she noticed how dim the light was.

I'm going to have to be quick... My light is going out... she released a shaky breath.

She slowly made her way around her friends, careful not to wake them.

As she was about halfway to her destination, however, her light flickered out completely.

"No. No no no." Eli repeatedly smacked its side, trying desperately to turn it back on.

She screwed her eyes shut, collapsing to the floor as she began shaking.

"Please..." she whispered, "Someone help..."

Nozomi woke to the sound of something metal clattering to the floor.

Glancing around, she noticed Eli wasn't in her spot.

Oh no... Nozomi instantly caught on.

Nozomi had learned quite some time ago that Eli's fear of the dark was nothing to joke of. The poor girl would begin sobbing and shaking violently if there was no light.

Nozomi quickly rose to her feet, searching frantically for the love of her life.

"Eli? Eli~Chi?" Nozomi called quietly.

"N-N-Nozom-mi..?" Eli called in a broken voice.

Nozomi sprinted over to the sound, sinking to her knees as she brought the hysterical girl into her arms.

Eli gripped the front of her shirt tightly in her fists, burying her face into Nozomi's chest.

"What were you thinking?" Nozomi asked, stroking her hair gently.

"I-I just.. I just n-needed to... Use the b-bathroom.." Eli whimpered.

"I told you to come get me if you needed anything!" Nozomi scolded.

"I-I just... I thought I could... Do it on my own!" Eli sobbed.

"Shh, I've got you now, Elichika. It's okay." Nozomi whispered.

Nozomi stood, pulling Eli up with her.

"Come here, Eli~Chi." Nozomi swiftly picked Eli up into her arms.

Eli nuzzled into her neck, her crying finally subsiding as she clung to Nozomi tightly.

Nozomi carried Eli to the bathroom, flicking on the light and moving to stand outside the door.

"Nozomi? I'm done.." Eli opened the door as Nozomi wrapped her into a hug.

"Okay. Next time, just ask me for help. Please, Elichika." Nozomi said.

"I'm sorry. I will, I swear." Eli nodded.

Nozomi held Eli's hand as they walked back into the main room.

"N-Nozomi?" Eli called.

"Yes?" Nozomi turned to see Eli, who was blushing softly.

"Can I... Can I lay with you?" Eli asked timidly.

"Sure." Nozomi smiled.

She lay down on her pallet, Eli lying beside her.

"Goodnight, Nozomi." Eli said before sleep overtook her.

"Goodnight, Elichika." Nozomi giggled.

Some time later, Nozomi glanced over at Eli, who was sound asleep.

"I love you, Eli~Chi." Nozomi whispered.

She leaned over, planting a sweet kiss to Eli's sleeping lips.

"I love you too, Nozomi." Eli opened one eye, smirking at her.

Nozomi blushed deeply, turning her face away as Eli snickered.

Eli wrapped her arms around Nozomi's waist from behind, nuzzling against her back.

"Goodnight, Nozomi. Get some rest." Eli directed.

Nozomi slowly nodded, falling asleep in Eli's embrace.
