so, this is gonna be a Taekook(ish) chapter bc it sort of links in with the story (prepare for angst btw.. maybe) oh, and prepare for Jikook

Jungkook decided it was time. It was time to move on. He knew Taehyung would never like him and he's already got a new best friend. Just then, his eyes landed on someone in the corner of the class. Jimin. Maybe if I spend enough time with him, I can move on from Taehyung... Jungkook thought. The bell rang as he walked over to Jimin, who was talking to Taehyung at the time. He tapped his shoulder, trying to ignore Taehyung's sweet smile.

"Can I get your number? Y'know, since we're friends now and all..." Jungkook smiled, his bunny teeth showing.

But, what he didn't know was that Taehyung's heart just shattered into a million pieces once he finished the sentence. No, I'm overthinking this way too much, he just wants to be friends with him.

Jimin nodded, smiling. He took out his phone and Jungkook took out his. They exchanged phone numbers and Jungkook walked away, smiling proudly. Meanwhile, Taehyung was in pain. Specifically his heart. It ached.

He noticed the proud smile Jungkook had on as he walked away. But he still really hoped he was just overthinking it. That he still had a chance. He sighed and got up, Jimin noticing and following. Once he got out into the hallways, Jimin stopped him.

"Hey, you ok? You seemed down ever since Jungkook came and asked for my number..." Jimin said worriedly.

Taehyung smiled, obviously fake, and waved his question off. He tried not to think too hard about the "came and asked for my number" part.

"No, it's okay. I'm fine." Taehyung tried his best to keep a smile. Jimin slowly nodded. Taehyung was thankful he didn't catch on. They both said their goodbyes and Taehyung walked off.

"He thought he could fool me with that smile..." Jimin sighed and decided he would text Taehyung about it later. He started his way back home.

Jungkook took out his phone when he arrived back at home. He stared at Jimin's name for a few seconds before texting him.

Jungkook: Hey

Jimin: Oh hey!

Jungkook thought the way he texted reminded him of someone else. Taehyung. But he quickly shook that thought off. He should be forgetting his feelings about him, not thinking about him.

Jungkook: So i was wondering if you wanted to meet up somewhere over the weekend to get to know each other

Jimin: Sure, im free :)

Jungkook: Great, we can meet at the park if you want?

Jimin: Alright, sounds good!

Jungkook smiled to himself, feeling accomplished. This will be the first step to forgetting about him. To moving on from him.
