━━ THE UNDERWORLD , THE DEPTHS
"I HAVE MANY NAMES. BEELZBUB, SATAN, ABEKO, KALI. YOU'LL LEARN MY TRUE NAME IN DUE TIME, CHILD." Tenebris' voice spoke chillingly as always in the presence of another cruel soul on it's way to proper atonement. The titular dark lord of all things had been used to her job. Ruling over and operating through Hel was a normal day for her amongst her other responsibilities. Although, she was only one of the four horsemen religion had gotten gravely wrong. She stood above the pitied soul on her throne of blood and bones adorned with gold merely being molded for the main purpose of imprinting the image of pain. "Now, care to tell your sins and be ready for what lies ahead?"
Of course, Luciferum had sat in his very own deliciously decorated throne. He adorned it with the blood and bones of the many damned souls he encountered with every chance he could get. He smiled devilishly at his queen's antics. She loved to tease such honorifics when asking the sins of those who would passing through the gates of damnation. "Why not just send the poor mortal down? If they're down here, it's quite plausible they should be tortured." His voice was smooth as silk but held a malicious undertone to accompany a smirk. He had always spoken with with an intent of maliciousness.
Her head snapped to her right, tilting her head to look at her king, an eyebrow raised. "Shush, Luci", she whispered in the tone he didn't always favor. She practically hissed at his suggestion, knowing he always got impatient with that portion. "As I was saying, confess!" She yelled at the floating form of the deceased human.
They understandably flinched at the rise of her voice as she was scary enough on her own. They cowered under her terrifying gaze. Their voice almost begun as a whisper, soon developing as a full sentence, egged on by the threat of being sent down somewhere horrible. "I...I killed a man in cold blood. A-A heavy hit to his head, it was. The b-blood was everywhere. So sudden—"
"Why?" She asked the same question with every nearly damned soul. The cause was important. An eye for an eye was a correct statement most of the time, after all.
"He...did something to me. He ruined me, made me have such a hatred. He—He..." they trailed off, a lump caught in their throat. In their current state, they would've been sobbing all they could if it weren't for all the eyes upon them. "I-I'm sorry, I killed him and I'm not the one who should be crying—"
"No, you should, child", she stared down the deceased from her throne. Her eyes soon became trained on the greedy eyes of the scoundrels surrounding the poor soul. They did love sweet misery from the terrible circumstances of most of the dead who were to walk through perdition. Raising from her seat, she could sense the internal gasps and shock on their faces. She descended graciously, sure not to startle the almost hysterical being. Taking on a softer expression, she spoke again. "Do you think you deserve to reside in the depths of damnation?" Her tone was one a genuinely curious question.
"I-I..." they stumbled as Tenebris only awaited her answer. Most souls would utter a simple 'no!' or 'Of course I do!' in a heart beat. Most of the souls that came before her would only be reaching for their own greedy gain. The miserable soul consistently blamed themselves, a treat from their assailant. Perhaps it was finally time for them to rest, even if the queen of Hel was just as scary. "No. I-I don't think so." They swallowed thickly in worried anticipation as the very lord before her took in a deep breath.
Tenebris was never what most saw her as and within that moment, she would allow her subjects to see yet another unexpected turn of events. She had lowered herself beneath the being's small frame to be under her gaze. A stern look on her face came to the forefront in only the poor soul's sight. "You can rest now, assured that you get what you deserve." Her voice was soft with truth behind the words she spoke.
They could tell that there was no lie hidden in her words. No foul, whatsoever. An understanding was evident in the tone. A clear indication that of what she said would actually happen. "Thank you, mistress. Thank you." As their voice was a whisper, her hands softly clamped down on their shoulder. They could feel a glow, a new ascendence in itself. It was uplifting, heavenly in it's own right. They sighed, almost content in surprise.
"In my unholy name, you shall be returned the favor we owe you. Rest for however long they allow. Rest, for it is your deserved treat." As they can feel their existence fade from that very plane, a smile rests upon their face. As they fully dissipate, Tenebris stands up to face the shocked and almost upset expressions of her subjects. She can feel the slight judgement upon what they'd expect of an angel.
"If you have a problem, you may kindly speak up! Huh?!," she screamed out with the very intent of all they feared. Their queen whomst would not back down from dealing out what she saw fit. Demons never did know the full extent of what their lord would do. "Dare anyone oppose their queen! If not, shall we move on? You know what will happen if you do so!" Her voice was deep and course with the malice they all followed to death.
Luciferum had known only half of what his queen would do to their unending number of subjects. Every now and then, she would assure those around her of her rule. Being the queen was not just dealing out orders. He knew that. He knew of her rare doings with no malice at all. He narrowed his bright orbs at her towering figure. As she merely turned back, the tilt of her head and her emotionless stare gave assurance once again. He scoffed, a smirk soon present on his features once again. "You heard her! Let's get to business you fiends!" His voice was as hers, always putting unholy faith into their demonic followers. "And you'll be glad to know your next client knows your now heavenly friend." Settling back into his throne, he merely watched the victorious sneer erupt from the queen. The wicked smile came upon her face. She snickered as she noticed the cowering approach of who she would be spending a lot of time with.
" This should be fun . . . "
