Imagine that how much you read is connected to someone else. Imagine that you always had the sudden urge to read an entire series of "The Mortal Instruments" in one night, at 11pm.You spot a girl reading "The Maze Runner" in the halls and suddenly you want to too. You end up spending time with the girl and began to know her reading preferences.
One night she reads "Harry Potter" and you too read it. The next morning you catch her in the hallways to exclaim how much you enjoyed "Harry Potter". But she shrugs and says that she doesn't really like the series and hasn't read it since she was twelve.
You confused said that what she reads you read because you're connected and she shakes her head saying that she's connected to her brother.
Confused you go back home. That night you only read one book: "How to hide a body".
