The fresh air hits my skin as I walk out of the office door. My best friend, Sam, babbles on about some recent boy drama. I wipe her words from my brain and look around at my surroundings.

"It's beautiful out, isn't it?" I blurt out.

Sam turns to look at me, a look of annoyance on her face. "You haven't been listening to me," She says. I smile at her and link my arm in her's. "It is beautiful, but why aren't you listening to me?"

I sigh. "You are always talking about boy drama. I just wanted to change the topic for once." She smacks me lightly and smiles. I chuckle.

We walk out to the almost empty parking lot. She clicks a button on her keys and her car chirps. I'm pulled to the car by her. When we are both in, she rolls down all of the windows and starts blasting Thirty Seconds to Mars. Both of us start headbumping to the music.

"So, what are we going to do tonight?" She asks, pulling the car out of the parking lot and onto the road. I mumble an I don't know and continue singing along to the music. "Well right now we are going to go get food. Mama is hungry." That causes both of us to laugh.

I watch out the window as we zip past businesses. People walk in and out of stores. Some of them laugh. Some of them hold hands. Then some of them are cyborgs carrying bags and bags of things. I feel so bad for them. They used to be normal humans just like you and me. Now they are slaves to people wealthy enough to buy them.

Sam and I both agree that cyborgs should be treated like all of us normal humans, but our opinions don't matter to those in charge. I've heard so many stories of what cyborgs have to go through. It's disgusting. In my opinion, they are still human.

Now everyone lives very carefully. If you are young and get into an accident, they will fix your body up with technology, making you a cyborg. Sam and I are so careful. We never go out and do anything that could kill us. Yes, driving a car is very dangerous. Even then Sam is very careful. We try not to drive, like ever.

Sam pulls the car into a Mcdonald's drive thru, knocking me out of my thoughts. She rolls up to the intercom and turns the music down. "What do you want?" She asks me quietly.

"Just get me fries and water." I watch her as she orders two large fries and two large waters. We get our food and start to head home.

"Would you want to go to a party tonight at one of the clubs?"

I think a bit to myself. Would I even have fun? I don't like parties. Sam always tends to leave me during parties to go off with a boy. "Sure," I decide. "As long as you don't leave me alone this time. I hate being around all of those people by myself."

Sam laughs. "I know." She throws a handful of fries in her mouth. "When we get home, we need to start getting ready then. The party starts in a few hours."

"Five minutes! Hurry up with your makeup!" Sam yells from her room. I roll my eyes and do the finishing touches on my lipstick.

"I'm literally ready," I reply. I go over to my bed and grab my small, black heels. Sam walks into my room wearing a beautiful red mini dress, black heels, and a whole bunch of jewlery. "You look pretty, Sammy."

She smiles and flips her hair. "Not as beautiful as you." I'm wearing a short, gold, glittery dress. A heart pendant necklace hangs from my neck. "Let's go."

We walk quickly out the door to the car. The car turns on with the radio all the way up. It causes both Sam and I to jump. We start laughing. She pulls out of the drive way and almost gets hit by a delivery truck. The car stops just in time. The truck driver honks loudly at us. We look at each other and breathe deeply.
