Well it was easier said than done. Knowing that your friend wasn't human and you couldn't ask them about it was beyond awkward. At times it was hard to believe. She was clumsy and awkward and had trouble with the lessons but now I could feel that she was different. Luckily I only saw her during a couple classes and sometimes during lunch so it wasn't hard to hide that I knew.
Controlling the fear waves proved to be much easier. After concentrating on them for a bit I was able to feel them. They acted just like how heat radiates off of things. I could feel them constantly. To solve this I put up a kind of insulator around myself to keep the waves in. My first few attempts were moderately successful but I still made people close to me slightly uncomfortable. After a few days I had it completely under control. Eventually I was even able to put it on stuff. I could leave my stuff out somewhere and cover it in the waves and no one would go near it, which was nice. Though getting the waves under control created a new problem.
Since getting control Nick started to bully me. Well he tried at least. He started to call me all sorts of names, making fun of what ever I was doing at the time, small stuff like that which I just ignored because it was just stupid. After not getting a reaction from me he started to get physical. He started to push me around in the halls, knock my books down and kick them across the floor, stuff like that but it never went any further. This went on for awhile but then one day he left me completely alone. Didn't say or do anything to me but kept looking at me with a look that made me think he was up to something but I had class so I let it go
While eating with Asia and Issei I hear him call out to me and I turn to face him just to see him throw a bag of something towards me. I close my eyes and prepare for impact. A few seconds later I hear the impact of the bag but don't feel anything. Then I hear someone scream and I open my eyes and turn around and am shocked and furious at the sight before me.
The bag hit Asia in the face instead of me and the contents exploded all over her. The contents being his lunch all mixed together. She has some kind of noddle all in her hair, either yogurt or pudding all over her face, and is covered from head to toe in some vile smelling liquid.
She is in shock so it takes her a second to realize what has happened. She begins to cry from being covered in the stuff and from the stuff getting in her eyes. Issei and I immediately started to try and clean it off of her while we comforted her. I'm wiping off her face when I hear it. Laughter. I slowly turn to look and see Nick laughing his head off. He's trying to get his friends to join in but they just look at him like they can't believe that he's laughing some even shaking there head.
Issei gets up to go after him but I block him with my arm. I think something in my face told him that I was going to handle this. He just nodded and went back to Asia. As I faced Nick he was still laughing, at least until I let my fear waves out. He is still trying to laugh but he is clearly shaken and uncomfortable. I am keeping them focus on him but with my growing anger it is growing difficult to keep them in check. It was starting to affect people I passed making them shuffle nervously.
I am about 30 feet from him and as I get closer I increased the intensity of it. At 20 feet he stops laughing, at 10 feet he looks white as paper, 5 feet he looks like he wants to run away as fast as possible.
I look at him and say with a smirk "What's wrong Nick? Why do you look so scared."
This made him go from scared to angry. He ran at me like a bull, cocked his left fist back and swung at me. I dodged his fist, pushed out my middle knuckle, and punched him in his ribs while he had his arm up. The sound that came out of him was a cross between a scream and him choking. He backed up holding his side. He looked like he wanted to attack again but stopped to come up with a plan first.
He squared up looking for a good opening. I made it easy by just standing there. I knew whatever he did I could avoid or counter it. The look on his face told me he had a plan and so I readied myself for whatever he was going to do.
He dropped his head and charged me trying to tackle me. I crouched down to catch him. He hit me with enough force to push me back a few inches but that was it. I grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and his shoulder and using the momentum of his tackle I spun him around and threw him back at the table he was sitting at. He rolled over the top of the table clearing all the food that was on it as he fell off the other side. When he stood up he was covered head to toe in food, there wasn't a clean spot on him
His face is full of rage as he roars jumping over the table and charging at me once again. This time I charged back at him. This surprised him and made him falter giving me the opening I needed. I rushed forward getting inside his reach and started hammering at his midriff. After about 10 hits I took a step back, brought my right fist back, and planted it on his jaw. I hit him so hard he spun around 180 degrees and collapsed. Looking at him I could tell I knocked him out.
The whole lunch room was silent as I walked back to Asia and Issei. He managed to get her mostly clean but she still had a little bit of noodle in her hair and her clothes were still wet and starting to stain.
We were about to go clean her up elsewhere when Rias and Akeno ran up to us and asked what happened. After a brief explanation Akeno took us to the old school building while Rias took care of the situation.
When we got there Akeno had magically cleaned up Asia and was sitting on the couch comforting her when Rias came through the door and she was mad.
She walked up to me and yelled,"What were you thinking? Do you realize what you did?"
"Yeah I put a bully in his place. So what?" I reply, starting to get irritated.
"Yes well in the process you broke his ribs."
Shocked, I say, "I didn't think I was hitting him that hard."
"You didn't think you were but your max strength has increased. A normal punch to you is several times stronger than a humans even with maximum restraint. Why do you think Issei avoided a fight with Nick that day. He knew he would really hurt him if he fought him. You need to not engage in fights with humans cause if you're not careful you could kill someone."
I nodded my head, "Ok I understand."
At least I won't have to fight him again.
Nick P.O.V
I was walking back from the hospital. The bandages were making me itch and my broken ribs making it hard to breathe.
That stupid bitch. How did she beat me so badly. She was so weak that day in the alley. Does it have something to do with that armor that appeared. I thought I'd imagined that. And how did she make me so scared.
It doesn't matter cause I'm going to get her back. I don't know how but I will. The feeling of the bandages and the pain of breathing fuled my rage. I was so focused on it that I almost didn't notice someone standing a few feet in front of me.
I stopped and looked at him, "Who are you?"
"I'm the person who will help you get your revenge."
Before I could reply he sprouted blue wings and I was blinded by a bright light and I lost consciousness.
