I was Born on 23rd of September 2537. 

That was the year the world changed. For better or worse our future was here, my future. The earth was running dry of oil, the black life blood of society. That meant one thing. The worlds governments had nothing left to fight over. Or so we were all told when we grew old enough to understand. you see the funny thing is when your told how it all went down 12 or 16 years later the details get a little fuzzy. More or less the world formed one government.  a singular Iron fist to smack down those fools to poor to look after themselves.

The earth was made into one big Ecumenopolis under the one government system. That's one big city to you and me. and what a hell whole it is. 705 Billion people all scurrying around on the decaying surface of the earth. I'm not brave enough for politics but id say it was someones mistake somewhere down the line to let the population to grow like an curable cancer.

The planet hasn't got a green spot on it and the air is thick with black smog like a perpetual night. I hate living here on this cursed earth. my parents tell story's of what it was like before this. They speak of a democratic government with the rule of law well established like a bed rock. what happened to that. Ill never know and it eats at my soul that all I will ever have in its place is a grey, toxic totalitarian state in its place.

you see the worst part isn't the endless street of metal and constant raw of a modern day city. flying cars above your head in the gods if like me you are unlucky enough to be unable to afford such things. and if you are lower class your greted with dark city streets in the shadow of buildings that seem to rase into the sky for ever.  The fractured remains of the old world still sticking out down in the shadows like a ghost of the past. A past I wish I'd had the chance to  live.
