Hey guys! Sorry for the wait, but I was really busy with school and had a lack of inspiration. Anyway, I'm back with a new chapter, and from here on it will start to get interesting, which means more Kaylor. Please, let me know what you think of this, if you want more flashbacks like the one at the start of this chapter, and as always, don't forget to vote and comment. I love reading your opinions!
Enjoy!

" CHAPTER SIX "
22 years before, Glacies
The hot temperature floating in the air was eerily unusual, slapping her face as the rope around her wrists tightened with each passing second. The bark of the small tree behind her back scratched the young skin of her neck, her bare feet hurting the more she stood on the fallen grey ashes covering the gravel pathway. Her beloved land was on fire, under attack. The sound of clashing swords and burning wood made the tears streaming down her cheeks fall faster, as she weakly wiggled in order to break free from the unbearable grip around her hands. Taylor tried to scream for help, but every single soul that walked and run by her, didn't even stop to free the poor thirteen years old girl. The little blue eyed princess looked around herself, her wide, frightened gaze searching for her parents. In all her life, she's never seen an attack first hand. Since she was a little girl, her Mother has always told her that there were these bad people that hated their land and the people that lived in it. She has always told her that the bad blood connecting Ardor and Glacies was always going to flow between them; nothing could ever stop the conflict. However, no one had expected this sudden attack. Not even the King and the Queen themselves.
As soon as the first yell of fire came from one of the sentinels, her Father had told her to run as fast as possible, to try and save herself from all of this madness. She did just that, the young kid slipping through the many scared crowds of the land. Seeing all those tongues of fire eating Glacies and being surrounded by the crimson red scared her to no end. However, her getaway had soon came to an end when a man of the army's enemy had caught her and had trapped her between a rope and a tree.
An enormous oak branch collapsing into a dwelling and destroying its roof brought her back to reality, as she finally caught sight of her parents. They were together, held hostage by a group of soldiers. They were snickering, her Mother looking desperate and her Father distraught and exhausted as blood stained his bottom lip and chin. Taylor called out for them, screaming, "Mom! Mom, Dad! I'm here! Mom, Dad!"
Her pleads reached deaf ears, as her Mother gave up and stopped fighting for their freedom. The young princess watched the sturdy soldiers hang them on two separate cross, her Father's tired and lifeless eyes meeting his daughter's wide eyed stare. "Dad! Mom! No, please! Mom! Mom!" she kept on screaming. Taylor's voice caught one of the soldiers' attention, as he laughed and pointed at her.
"Look who it is, the King's unfortunate daughter!"
All of them laughed, mocked her, as they stood a few meters away from her.
And then, one of them lit the two crosses on fire, her parents staying silent as their skin burned between the flames. Taylor kept yelling, the rope around her wrists preventing her from running towards her parents and saving them. "Mom! Dad!" she cried, the tears escaping her eyes cold in her face.
Surrounded by nothing else but heat, her eyelids gave up, and then, everything suddenly turned black.

"Your Majesty?"
Ophelia peeped into the room, eyes wide and holding uncertainty. Taylor was sitting in front of her vanity, gaze lost, mind elsewhere. When she met her maid's stare on the mirror, and granted her permission to walk in, the older woman stepped inside, holding what looked like a letter in her right hand. The Queen glanced at it briefly, her thoughts going back to her husband, who was out on a hunt. Three long weeks had passed since the day they have sealed their love with a band on their ring finger, and the more time passed, the more Taylor felt heavier. A crushing weight had placed itself on her chest, and it had made itself present ever since the wedding. A bad feeling, remorse; she didn't know what it resembled. The only thing she knew was, that nothing good could come out of it if it ever subsided one day.
