It's really really short and I'm not entirely proud of it, but you can consider this a filler chapter. Plus, since I haven't updated in ages, I wanted to give you something. Please tell me what you think, and don't forget to vote!
P.s If anyone is interested, I published a new book called "Words Of My Heart." and it contains the poems that I've been writing lately, so if you want, please support me by voting and/or leaving a comment. Thank you so much!

" CHAPTER SEVEN "
The breeze caressing her cheeks was warm, a strange feeling since the one that was back at Glacies was as cold as snow. Queen Karlie was showing her around, talking with her sweet and sultry voice as her hands dramatically moved before her. Taylor, frustrated with herself, was not paying attention; her gaze lost somewhere beyond the dark cliffs of Ardor. The brunette by her side didn't mind, although her speech sometimes faltered whenever she noticed that the blonde wasn't properly listening. When Karlie stopped speaking altogether, Taylor didn't even acknowledge her suspicious silence. They walked side by side, quiet, along the bushes of the garden. The roses had thorns, and the pathway that crunched beneath each of her steps was made of dark cobblestone. Everything about Ardor was gloomy and somber; the atmosphere, people's features, the clouds, the dwellings. It was brand new for the blonde woman, whose eyes couldn't stop roaming around the surroundings.
"You know that, sooner or later, you need to talk to me, right?"
The brunette's low and hoarse voice filled her ears, bringing her back to earth. Taylor tentatively looked by her side, meeting Karlie's emerald eyes for the first time since they had gone out. She swallowed thickly, a strange pull in her heart making her shift uncomfortably as they stopped strolling.
"I know," she replied. "But that doesn't mean I have to start now. We have plenty of time to befriend each other, am I right?"
Karlie seemed distracted as her gaze lowered to her neck. Taylor felt a blush spread through her cheeks, warming her face even more as she waited for a response. Their bodies faced each other, as the Queen of Ardor boldly stepped into her personal space and brushed her fingers against the fur of her cloak. The blonde woman swallowed, narrowing her ice blue eyes as she watched Karlie part her thin lips into the ghost of a smirk.
"This is really soft," Karlie whispered, fully grabbing the fabric and gently pulling her in. "It looks good on you," she added quietly. The tension between them was palpable, as the brunette woman didn't do anything to let Taylor breathe and give her space. The Queen of Glacies took in a sharp breath as she tried to come up with a snappy remark.
But all her lips said was, "Thank you,"
Two words quivering and lingering into the air as Karlie smiled victoriously at her.
And then, finally, she stepped back and Taylor's lungs drank in the fresh and weightless air.
"Shall we go back inside?"

The dinner was even more forced and awkward. Or so Taylor thought.
The table they were sitting at was rather large, the Queen of Glacies sitting opposite her husband, as the latter animatedly talked with his brother sitting to his right. Her mind was elsewhere, far, far away from Ardor. She played with the food in her plate, looking too dark and feeling too hot for her liking. Richard was too distracted by his brother's presence, unable to spare his wife a glance, but Taylor surprisingly didn't mind. Although, the intense and focused gaze of the other Queen on her constantly kept her feeling like she was on the edge of a cliff. Male voices were the only sounds filling the large dining hall, four people getting lost in the width of prosperity. The blonde woman kept eating her food in silence, never raising her gaze and meet Karlie's fire one.
Only when the words, "Stay the night, please," came out of Henry's mouth, did her head lift and her eyes locked with Richard's. It was as clear as water that the decision was already made inside of his head, because then she heard her husband's voice echo in the dimly lit hall.
"Of course we will stay, thank you, dear brother."
Taylor, after hours spent inside that room with nothing but a little frown on her lips, found herself walking in an unfamiliar chamber; the blankets too dark, the window too small and the architecture too gloomy. Richard's hand disappeared from gently resting on the small of her back, and she heard herself let out a sigh in relief.
"That was a lovely dinner, don't you think, love?"
The man undid the buttons of his clothes, as he stared at his wife's neutral profile.
Taylor hummed. "Lovely."
Richard came up behind her, his hands trailing up her sides and resting just below the swell of her breasts. The Queen couldn't help but imagine that they were someone else's hands instead.
His breath against her ear, he whispered, "I'm so glad we did this," he left a kiss at the base of her neck. "I'm so glad I found you."
Taylor turned, wrapped her arms around his shoulders, and tried to feel something as she looked into his eyes. No words could express the confused thoughts swirling inside her mind, therefore she leant in and kissed him. Seeing dark green eyes behind her closed eyelids.
Taylor cupped his face and teasingly nipped his bottom lip, hearing a low grumble coming from the back of his throat. The man pushed his wife against the bedpost, and let his hands slide along the bare skin under her gown.
"Richard," she mumbled, pushing him away with her hands against his chest. He looked perplexed, as his stormy eyes kept their attention on Taylor's swollen and rosy lips. "I'm really tired. Let's just go to bed, please."
Richard seemed disappointed, as he planted a final kiss on the Queen's sternum before turning around and finishing changing into his night clothes. That night, with Richard's strong arms around her hips, offering her all the protection she would ever need from a man, Taylor fell asleep with anxiety haunting her brain.
