I've walked this path for days and nights,
Much longer I won't last.
Although I can't see sun or sky,
I feel that time has passed.
A stale air lingers as I drag
My feet upon the ground.
My jagged breath a ruined disk,
The only present sound.
The walls stare down from every side,
Bones scattered all about.
Mementos that there once were men
Who never made it out.
They sleep along the dusty walls,
The travelers who failed
To ever leave these whispering halls,
The River Styx they sailed.
The sustenance I brought far gone
My lamp ran out of steam
My eyes revert to only see
A blackened color scheme
My fingers grip the dusty wall
As darkness suffocates,
Until I turn a corner and
A light illuminates.
I breathe a sigh, I'll see the sky
The shine a wish come true
The darkness gone and sun ahead
I bid hard times adieu
I've walked this path for days and nights
I've finally found the end
My pain is lifted as I rest
And join the other men
