Clouds rolled in
But the sun peeked on through
The rays asking me
For love like they do
So I did, but the clouds
They kept moving along
with the sun locked away
A bird sang a song
In the eye of a storm
A calm feeling held me
in swirling commotion
Of winds, worlds, and welding
The bird took a liking to me
And I cherished the feeling it shared
It's wings flapping gently and free
Disturb us had nobody dared
It flew at my side
But seasons changed
My feathered friend would fly
And leave me feeling strange
But it would return
As if here all the time
I knew that one day
it would leave me behind
I find feathers scattered
On the dew laden grass
Assurances
That my bird will come back
But it doesn't seem so
My friend flying falsely
I'm losing my grip
And my avian flew free
The dark clouds have parted
I see it all now
My bird fellow frankly
Just wasn't allowed
To last for me longer
It's all clear to me
If you love something dearly
You must let it free
