I was sitting on the couch watching tv while my daughter was making her homework at the dining table. Avielle nichole was her name, the prettiest 8 year old girl ever. "Daddy?" I heard her sweet voice say. "Yes?" I muted the tv and got up. "Can you help me?" She asked while she looked at me with her beautiful blue eyes. "With what, honey?" I asked as I sat down next to her. "Math." She pointed at her book. "Ah, subtraction." I clasped my hands together. "I just need to do these five exercises." She said as she pointed at the exercise. "The first one is 84-53, the first thing you do is 4-3 which is?" I looked at her as she gave me the answer. "One!" She said happily. "Okay, write that down. The next thing you do is 8-5, and that is?" "Three." She said as she wrote it down. "So what's 84-53?" I asked. She looked at the paper for a second. "31?" She asked. "Yeah, exactly!" I said as I saw her confidence grow. "Thank you daddy!" She said as she wrapped her tiny arms around my neck. "Love you, lil' monkey." "Love you too daddy." She said as she focused on her math again. I smiled, kissed her on her head and watched as she made the other exercises by herself.
