As I walked up to my locker, I heard a familiar voice behind me. I turned to find Callan behind me, being as weird as usual and saying strange things. "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH" he yelled. "Good morning to you too," I said, grinning at his weird personality. I got some stuff out of my locker, and said good morning to Kelly. We started discussing KOTLC books excitedly until I realized I had been out at the lockers longer than I had meant to, and rushed into the classroom.
A couple hours later, we walked down to lunch, where Sophia-Marie was waiting for us. "Hi!" I greeted her. Instead of saying hi back though, she suddenly started freaking out. "I just saw- there was-" she managed to get out before I cut her off. "Woah, slow down. What are you talking about?" Sophia-Marie pointed at a short girl, with blond hair and beautiful brown eyes. "Ummm you wanna show us you made a new frie-" I hadn't finished my sentence before Kelly started yelling. "OMG, SOPHIE?!" I was confused, until I realized the resemblance between this girl and the one in my favorite book series. "SOPHIE FOSTER? LIKE, THE SOPHIE FOSTER?" I yelped. The girl nodded, then had us follow her to the bathrooms where we couldn't be overheard. Along the way, we picked up Callan, and my other friend Ryan. After a few minutes of freaking out and fan girling/fan boying, we calmed down and listened to what Sophie had to say. "Okay, so. You may not believe what I am about to say, but you are not normal."
I blinked and processed this. Did she mean we were like her? Were we elves? Sophie nodded and I remembered she could read minds. She was a telepath after all. I sucked in a breath and took this all in. Eventually, Sophia-Marie broke the silence. "So... are you.. going to take us to the lost cities?" Sophie nodded and said; "Yes. But once we go there, you will no longer be able to come back. You will be assumed dead." I blinked. "Wouldn't it be weird if five kids were claimed "dead" at once?" The others nodded in agreement. Sophie smiled. "We have our ways."
I blinked. Teleporting to the Lost Cities was weeeeiiiiirrrrd. "So," I said. "Where will we all stay?" "You could pick somewhere and we can hail them to see if they would like to adopt you," Sophie responded. "I'll stay wherever Sophia-Marie stays!" I exclaimed, right at the exact moment that Sophia-Marie shouted; "I wanna stay at Havenfield!" We glanced at each other. Sophia-Marie suddenly started giggling, and I couldn't help but burst into laughter too. "I'm sorry- I- don't know why- I'm laughing-" she gasped out between breaths.
After a while, we all settled down into our new homes. I collapsed into bed, exhausted from the crazy events of that day, and drifted into sleep.
