This is a scrapped scene from my story, That Boy is Mute. After much debate, I decided against this plot but decided to share it here instead.
I thought this plot was not what I wanted for the characters, since it's not realistic to their personalities.
Plot: Mute Louis is dating amputee Clementine.
He didn't turn up to school, after seeing Clem kiss someone else at a party over the weekend. Marlon decided to check on him.—-
"Louis? Come on mate, where are you?" Marlon whispered to himself, doing a sweep of his friends house. He hasn't turned up to school on Monday morning, and that party was on Saturday.
The final place to check was his own room, which had a shut door. Knocking on the door, Marlon raised his voice. "Louis?" He spoke, but got no reply.
There was slight tumbling noises, before a loud bump. Followed by that, there was a low groan. "I don't care if you're butt ass naked, I'm coming in." He shouted, before entering.
Rolling around on the hard floor in a pile, was Louis. He didn't even notice the blonde boy enter the room. The amount of alcohol bottles around the place was scary.
Rushing over to him, Marlon rolled him onto his back so he was able to see his face. The dark boys face was a mess. All hints of his recent happiness had vanished.
Louis had dark bags under his eyes, showing the recent lack of sleep. His cheeks were damp from tears too, which was matched to his grim snotty nose. He looked such a mess.
The random wet gurgling from his mouth was the strangest thing though. For someone that's mute, noises like that are often concerning.
With furrowed brows, Marlon stabilised the boys head into his lap. Louis's eyes were rolling back and forth in his skull, which meant no response was going to be possible.
"Mate, don't do this to me. Come on. Wake up." He muttered, lightly slapping his face in hopes of knocking sense into him.
The gurgling sounds kept coming, so Marlon used his previous lack of knowledge in first aid to make his next move. Sticking his fingers down his friends throat, Marlon had got him to be sick. It was far from a pretty sight, but once he finished emptying his stomach, Louis was seemingly semi normal. The disturbing noises from his mouth had stopped, and he appeared more responsive.
Due to being so intoxicated, he wasn't able to throw up on his own. Having no tongue didn't help either.Fumbling with his phone, Marlon knew that Clementine of all people had to understand this situation. She's the only one that could put a stop to this.
"Hello?" Her voice spoke through the speakers.
"I need you to listen to this, because you caused all of this happen." Marlon spoke harshly. She remained silent, listening in.
Marlon knew exactly what to say to his friend to get him speaking again. And with Clem on the phone, it was critical that she heard this.
"Bro, what's wrong with you? You could've fucking died if I didn't turn up here and shove my fingers in your damn throat." He said, annoyed at this whole thing.
Signing, Louis tiredly started a ramble of his emotions. 'I didn't try to kill myself if that's what you're thinking. I wouldn't do that to Florence. I just wanted to forget.' His eyes were heavy to open.
"Forget what?" He pressed.
Louis continued, 'Forget everything. I love her so much that it hurts. I'm clearly not good enough for her. I'm not good enough for anyone, but that's okay. I just don't know what I did wrong. I never meant for any of this to happen.'
By now, there were tears escaping the dark boys hollow eyes. One by one, Marlon attempted to wipe them away but it was no use. They were coming too fast.
'Was it because I didn't sleep with her fast enough? You were right about that one Marlon.' He snorted to himself.
"You are thick as shit. Never believe what I say. Clementine is the last person to cheat on someone for not sleeping with her." He replied, sighing in guilt.
The blonde boy began talking as if the girl wasn't listening to this whole thing. "She didn't kiss that guy at the party, he kissed her. I saw the whole thing and wouldn't lie to you. Clementine loves you, bro. You're just too blind to see it."
'I'm mute, not blind.' Louis retorted.
Marlon laughed, knowing his friend was alright. "You act pretty dumb at times though."
Clem's voice came through the phone. "Louis?"
Louis groaned, attempting to roll towards the phone that was next to him. Marlon stopped him though. "Go on Clem. He's listening." The blonde boy spoke, giving Louis a warning look.
There was a deep sigh. "I didn't kiss Gabe. He kissed me. When I realised what he was doing, I tried to get him off me but he wouldn't let go. Why didn't you talk to me about it? You know I would never cheat on you. I love you too much." She said, growing emotional.
'I couldn't talk to you about it because it was too much of a reminder that I'm not good enough for you. I've seen how you look at him. And that's okay if you want to be with him.' He signed, while Marlon relayed this back to Clem in speech.
By now, the girl on the other end was in tears too. "You are fucking good enough for me. I don't want him or anyone else, I want you. I love you so much that it hurts Louis."
Vote and comment if you enjoyed this. It is quite sad, which is why my heart hurts after publishing it.
