THREE

"all students, please come to the auditorium. I repeat, everyone come to the auditorium."

the three girls shared some questioning looks with each other.

"wasn't that the president?" jennie asked.

"i think so," jisoo replied as she stood up. "let's go. maybe this all was a prank and he knew about it."

chaeyoung quickly followed the two friends to the auditorium, running into her boyfriend on the way. jimin protectively placed an arm over her shoulder and walked slower, putting more distance between her and her old friends.

jisoo turned back and noticed. "you coming?" she mouthed to her.

"go on without me." chaeyoung mouthed back. truthfully, she kind of wanted to walk with them. she missed them. she missed her friends. for the past four years, she had only been around jimin and his friends.

she missed her old life.

"don't you think park jimin is kind of controlling?" jisoo asked as she and her friend entered the auditorium. they walked up and sat down in the furthest corner, hoping that nobody would sit down next to them.

jennie raised her eyebrows. "controlling? hm, I think he's a jerk, but i don't know him well enough to tell if he's controlling or not."

"i just think he's kind of controlling chaeyoung. she didn't look happy at all when i saw them."

the cat-eyed girl rolled her eyes and leaned back in her seat. "babe, your eyes are way too sharp for your own good."

"what are you trying to say."

"i just mean... you see stuff that others see, and overthink it. i'm sure chaeyoung and her boyfriend are happy with each other. and if they're not, they can work it out together. it's nothing we should worry about. it's not our job.  chaeyoung made that clear when she said she didn't want to hang with us anymore."

jisoo sighed and also leaned back. "you might be right."

"oh, honey," jennie smirked. "i know i'm right. now shut up, namjoon sunbae is here."

jisoo rolled her eyes at her friend. jennie had been crushing on their school's student council president since the first day she ever saw him. jennie liked sexy men with authority, and when you're eighteen, kim namjoon was the literal definition of that. calm, charming, mature, smart, tall, broad, sexy, hot. he was all of that and more.

jisoo couldn't help but cringe at the hearts her friend was shooting at him with her eyes. "you're so obvious." she sighed.

"that's because i want him to know." jennie replied with sass.

the two of them looked up when a girl with blonde hair sat down on the empty seat next to them. she didn't even look up at them, completely ghosting them. jennie and jisoo looked at each other, the latter making a face saying "wow she looks mad".

"i know right." jennie replied, knowing exactly what her friend was trying to say with her expression.

"quiet down, everyone!" namjoon spoke through a mic. people immediately stopped talking and focused their attention on him.

jennie and jisoo looked up again when two figures sat down next to the blonde next to them. surprise surprise, it was taehyung and jungkook.

"hey girls. oh, hi, lisa," taehyung smiled, recognizing the blonde as the Thai exchange student. "weird day today, huh?"

lisa stared at him and looked away, totally ignoring him. jennie snorted, while jisoo held back her laugh as she faced forward.

"i like her." jennie whispered to her friend.

taehyung's smile disappeared as a his cheeks slowly tinted pink. jungkook snickered next to him, which earned him an elbow to his side. the older gave the younger a warning glare.

jungkook cleared his throat, his smile gone. "sorry, hyung."

"the reason why i have called you all here is something you've probably noticed, as well," namjoon spoke, this time getting everyone's attention for real. "as you've all seen, there are no teachers present. they've been here the whole morning, but after lunch break, they suddenly disappeared. i have checked every where, but they really are nowhere in sight."

students started whispering among themselves, worry and confusion evident on their faces. jennie turned her head to her friend.

"let's go to my place after this? if the teachers are really gone, we might as well ditch." she whispered.

"i ask of you not to go home, however," namjoon continued. "please stay here until school ends as usual. if the teachers haven't shown up until four pm, you may go home."

"let's just wait, then." jennie whispered again.

jisoo smirked. "because namjoon sunbaenim said so?"

the other girl shushed her and focused on their council president again.

"or," he said loudly. his eyes were dark and hooded, he radiated nothing but seriousness. "you can come to the council room and we can all try to figure out what the hell is going on."

people started whispering again.

"i can't, though! i'm too dumb."

"i think this is all a prank."

"what if we're going to die?"

lisa rolled her eyes. "people are so dramatic."

everyone looked at her, surprised that she spoke up. they were even more surprised that she sounded so young—except for taehyung and jungkook.

"how old are you, blondie?" jennie asked.

the blonde looked up at her and cocked an eyebrow up.

"seventeen."

"oh, we're eighteen." jennie grinned.

"okay, and?"

jennie wanted to slap her, and even raised her arm a little, got stopped by jisoo who grabbed her hand and shook her head. she wasn't about to let her best friend slap a freshman they didn't even know.

"in korea, it's a thing to be polite to your seniors," jennie snapped, attracting people's attention again. jisoo shut her eyes and sighed, thinking "ahh shit here we go again". "apologize right now."

"i'm not korean, so why should i?"

"seriously?! forget about korean mannerism, you're just being rude now."

"the female students in the back," jennie stiffened when namjoon spoke to them through the mic, dearly regretting losing her temper. "quiet."

jennie hugged and turned around, while lisa simply rolled her eyes.
