This story takes place in the present.
The apocalypse has just begun. It is a disease that spreads by bodily fluids: blood, saliva, urine, etc. It has already reached every country in the world, and world leaders have just announced complete country quarantine, hoping to prevent the disease from spreading further. Many have been infected, but others have not. Though the world's best scientists are studying the disease, they can't find any patterns. It destroys each person in very individual ways.
What is the disease, you may ask?
It is a disease that analyzes your mind and slowly picks it apart as it turns you into your worst fear.
The catch? Since no one knows what the disease is doing, you can't specifically say "it turns you into your worst fear." You have to explain it without saying it.
