PROLOGUE

Iana

5 years old...
"Mommy! mommy!" Little Iana called(more like cried) desperately for her mother. She couldn't sleep that particular night and expected a bedtime story.

"Yes Ana" Iana's mother, Luca, cradled little Iana in her arms , sweet talked to her in hopes of making her sleep but to no avail.

"I can't sleep, mommy."

"Alright Ana, wanna hear a story"

"Yes mommy"

"Alright then. Settle down Ana" Luca laid little Iana on her bed and she watched as she cuddled with her favourite teddy bear.

"On a planet called Maridon, far from the reach of the only planet that could contain humanity, earth , were nine kingdoms all ruled by nine different kings. These kingdoms made up the planet and made the planet and the entire universe stable. There was peace , joy and stability in all nine kingdoms. Until the Lords of Ignas arose and captured the gems that held on the kingdoms. Legend says that soon, a destined seeker would find the proclaimed kings of Mairdon and restore these kingdoms."Luca glanced at little Iana's sleeping figure and decided to end it there. Luca rose from the rocking chair she was once on but before she left, she kissed little Iana's forehead and stared at her for a few seconds.

"Sleep tight Ana bear" She whispered and turned off the little lamp before she left little Iana's room.

12 years old...
All Iana could hear were bombs and explosions. The land was under attack by the lords of Ignas and everyone was helpless. The warriors of the land were held captive and so were most of the people of the land. Iana and Luca were hiding behind a big oak tree after running from the lords' soldiers. Iana was crying all the way. She was horrified seeing her once bloomed land in total chaos. She saw things. Things children like Iana shouldn't have seen. She saw her own fellow mates slaughtered and some burned alive. She couldn't believe how heartless the Igna lords were to kids. 'They were kids like me. Would they do that to me if they find me' she thought.

"Ana, we can't hide anymore" Luca suddenly hugged Iana knowing that it was going to be the last time they would see each other again.

"W-What do you mean mom? Of course we can. We can just..." Luca cut her off abruptly. Iana was terrified and worried because she was frightened by what she thought her mother would say just by her looks.

"No honey,We can't. I can't .You can't. One of us is going to make it out alive and that's going to be you." She held onto Iana's shoulder and gave her a small smile but even Iana knew it was a fake one. Heavy streams of tears were strolling down Iana's eye. She didn't want to lose her mother. Not now. She couldn't bear it.

"M-Mom, W-What are you saying?!W-What do you mean?!P-please Mom"
She held onto her mother's shoulders and was sobbing bitterly.

"No Ana don't cry. Seekers don't cry, ok. You said you wanted to be a seeker like me right. Seekers sacrifice for the greater things , always remember that" Luca took off her silver necklace with a faded purple gem and gave it to Iana, her hand lapping the necklace.

"Take this necklace , It will be very handy when you grow so please take care of it. Remember me with this necklace and never take it off, i mean never take it off" She gave Iana one big hug, her last hug from her mother.
