Chapter 9

"Kalin, I want to get off, please, I can't do this." I cried as I tightened my grasp onto Kalin, almost hurting him. "Don't worry hails. I won't let you get hurt. I promise." Before I could let the thoughts in my head escaped my lips, the rollercoaster dipped into a large drop and I screamed into Kalin's chest with my eyes shut tight. "Open your eyes! I got you!" screamed Kalin over the roars of the fast moving rollercoaster as it zoomed over the tracks. I opened my eyes to see Samantha and Myles with their hands in the air, laughing and smiling as they screamed and cheered in sync. Even though I was terrified at the moment, I couldn't help but smile at my best friend. I looked up at Kalin and he gave me a reassuring smile. "You're okay, it's over," he said as the ride slowed into the boarding station. Everyone exited and I was still shaking as Myles and Samantha laughed at me. "Oh, stop it. I was terrified," I said, slapping Samantha on her arm. "You didn't die though right? You had your strong Kalin protecting you." she mocked. I felt my face getting red and started to blush. "Let's go for a walk, alone time. It'll be good for those two to get to know eachother anyway." Kalin whispered in my ear, his warm breath spreading with every word. It sent goosebumps down my body. "Okay, let's get something to eat," I said smiling. We walked in mostly silence, little conversation on the way there when Kalin suddenly grabbed my arm and stopped me. He looked deep into my dark brown eyes. "Wait, there's something I've been wanting to do since the first time I layed eyes on you." I could tell he was nervous but he looked down at my lips then into my eyes and I nodded in agreement. He leaned in slowly, biting his bottom lip. Then in an instant his lips met with mine. The kiss was deep and lasted for what felt like forever, but it was the good kind of forever. We broke the kiss and he gave me a bright, warm smile as we walked to the closest food stand.
