2•Regular Day

"What was he doing out there all alone?" Alice said looking between her group of friends. "The mom said that he was supposed to be hanging out with his friend but him and his friend went missing and hours later he was found dead. The friend is still missing and there has been no trace of him." Ashley said wrapping her arms around herself. Alex pulled Ashley closer to him and wrapped his arm around her. "Well now, let's change the topic, we're gonna freak poor Alice out. Let's talk about the big camping trip that's coming up!" Melisa spoke up before the conversation could continue.. "Ugh I already told you I hate camping they never go well, I always get bites and sunburnt. I hate them" Alex said scrunching up his face and groaning.

Alice gasped "Everyone loves camping! If not with your family then with your friends, and you don't have any other friends besides us so your pretty much stuck with us." "I've been stuck with you guys since the seventh grade and now I'm going to be stuck with you guys for a week." Alex said rolling his eyes. These five friends have never seen other people as friends outside their group. They weren't very well known in school, but they were well known to each other. They stuck by each other and hardly ever had any arguments.

Soon an elderly couple had come in so Melissa and Alice were sent back to the kitchen. "You're turn on taking orders." Alice said giggling and rushing into the kitchen after hearing Melissa groan. Shortly after more customers started to flow in. Jake went into the kitchen to lend a hand. Alice went to go help Melissa take orders then help Jake cook. "Alice, we're having a family dinner tomorrow and I think it's time you met my parents." Jake said while still staring at the stove. "Oh no.. I don't think I'm ready for that. What do I wear? Will it be casual or fancy? Is there a theme to it or—" Jake placed a hand on Alice's shoulder noticing her worry. Alice was known for being a really nervous person. She always had trouble adjusting to new things.

"You'll be fine Alice, don't worry I'll be there by your side sitting right next to you. Just dress casual and act yourself, they'll love you." Jake said turning to her giving her a smile. He pulled her into a hug. The hugs she completely adores. She takes in his scent and relaxes as she nuzzles into him. The food left on the stove unwatched starts to burn and as the smell of burnt food slowly meets their nose the couple in a sweet embrace let go and panic. Jake quickly solves the problem but unfortunately the food was burnt and Jake now needs to start a new batch. "Welp.." started Alice, "I'll go tell the customers to wait a little bit longer." and with that Alice disappeared to go tend to the waiting customers.

Sounds of chatter and rolling carts fill Alex's ears as he stands behind the cashier stand. There were people constantly walking in and out of the store, some with bags in hand and others holding baskets or pushing carts. Sounds of children complaining and parents giving them stern talks are what fills the market. Alex has worked in this market since he finished highschool and turned eighteen. He became good friends with the owner even though he's only worked as a part-timer. After lex finished his days in university he applied to work as a full-timer. Hey, everyone has to start somewhere.

Alex has studied to become the next big app developer. He wants to build an app where it will become world known and beneficial towards society. In his spare time he spends all day locked away in his room working on his laptop. His stand is closest to the entrance so as a result he is meant to great the customers coming in. Over the time he has received various responses. Some people have given him rude glances, others irritated, some have smiled and returned the greeting and other just blatantly ignored him. He's gotten used to all the different types of greetings and no longer gets offended.

As he's ringing up a customer he hears the sound of the automatic door sliding open. He looks up to greet the customer and sees a man dressed in blue jeans, worn out black and white sneakers, a grey shirt that hangs loosely on him, bright blonde hair that reminds you of the sun and dark grey eyes. "Yo! Jake, what up!" Alex greets him taking two fingers, his index and middle slightly above his brow and saluting. The customer with brown hair and blonde tips that reach her mid back turns to see whom Alex was greeting and swiftly turns back around turning her main focus back onto Alex who was scanning the items the woman was purchasing.

Jake waves at Alex and disappears into the store searching for items. Jake walks into the candy aisle and grabs a bag of m&m's; then he walks into the alcohol section and grabs a bottle of wine. He heads down to the register where Alex is stationed at and stands in line. Jake takes the time to take a glance around the market and notices it isn't as packed as usual. There's still an awful amount of people just not as much as there usually is. Jake eventually got to the front of the line. "Yo." Jake simply said. Alex examined the wine bottle as he scanned it. "What's the occasion?" he said while scanning the m&m's. "I'm having dinner at my parents and Alice is coming over." Jake shrugged. 

"So she's finally meeting them? That's a big move. Next thing you know you guys are getting married." Alex laughs as Jake puts his debit card into the machine. "Calm down, it's just a regular dinner my parent's have been asking to see her." Jake enters his pin number and with every number he presses the machine makes a beeping sound. Alex pressing something on his computer and the tiny machine holding Jake's debit card starts beeping signifying that Jake can remove his cards. Jake swiftly takes out his card and grabs his items. "Well I'll see you later man." Jake takes two fingers and salutes Alex mimicking Alex's earlier actions. "Later" Alex says giving a small nod.
