"Here it is, the long awaited battle!"
You wince at the chorus of cries and applause, sighing to yourself. You couldn't help but tighten your grip on your sword's hilt.
"Over on this side, We have Pyrrha Nikos- a formidable fighter. She's won the Mistral Regional Tournament three times in a row. A new record, not to mention. She is truly a prodigy."
In front of you stood Pyrrha Nikos, a polite smile on her face as she waved at the crowd. The cheering got louder, turning into annoyingly high-pitched screams.
Her gaze flits to you, and you could feel your face grow hot under her gaze. Truly, her emerald hues were captivating. You felt as if you could drown in them.
"And on the other side, we have an equally great opponent. (Y/N) (L/N)! Undefeated and unmatched in battle as of far. Will he be able to maintain his continuous winning streak?"
The screams die down slightly, replaced by "ooh"s and "aah"s from the audience. You can feel the excitement coming from the spectators, hyping you up as well.
Cracking your knuckles, your lips twist into a smug grin. This was going to be a piece of cake, you thought.
"May the best fighter win." You shout over to her, and she blinks, but returns your words with her exuberant smile.
"Yes, good luck!"
You were slightly put off by the kind gesture, a faint blush tinting your cheeks before huffing.
"Er- Yeah!"
"And without further ado, let's start this battle. Fighters, into your position!"
You go into your fighting position, and she does the same.
The rest of the emcee's words were a blur to you, save for the countdown.
"Three," The audience falls into a deep silence, some in bated breath. They truly didn't know how the battle would turn out.
"Two," Pyrrha's stare makes your heart skip a beat, but you shake it off. She had a look of concentration on her face, biting her bottom lip.
"One," You furrow your brows, a bead of sweat rolling down the side of your face. You try to steady your breathing in an effort to calm yourself down. This match had you very nervous for a reason, and you didn't know why.
"Begin!"
Almost instantly, your shield is torn from your grip and thrown to the side as you unfold it, leaving you vulnerable and open.
Your face twists into a panicked expression as you see Pyrrha's knowing grin.
Then she charges at you, Miló, her weapon in hand. You throw your arms up in the air, nervous.
Her blade comes into contact with your palm, which was glowing in (Aura color).
The audience starts shouting loudly. You grit your teeth, frustrated at how the battle started off.
The grin never left her face, and you didn't know if you should be mesmerized or irritated.
You push her off, and she bounces back.
You glance at your aura bar on the huge screen overlooking the battlefield, only to frown. Your "health bar" had decreased rather significantly, and you weren't so happy about that.
She charges in again, but this time your lips curl up into a smirk.
Your semblance activates, and you can predict her actions for the next five seconds.
As you block her blade with your sword, she bounces back and attempts to sweep you.
You dodge her, and her expression is that of surprise.
You hit her with the hilt of your sword and she is thrown off, accidentally letting go of Miló.
"There it is, folks! (Y/N)'s semblance, Clairvoyance. He is able to predict events that will happen in the next five seconds."
The crowd is in awe, applause coming from the audience. You grin at them.
Pyrrha Nikos' shocked expression goes back to her polite smile, as she goes back on her feet. You go to grab her blade and give it to her.
"You dropped this." You joked, winking at her. A giggle escapes from her lips.
After going to pick up your shield, the both of you put distance between yourselves, before charging into one another once more.
As your weapons clash, the both of you jump into the heated battle, fully immersed and focused.
