Chapter 6: Walk

With the plan was set in stone we all agreed on Abit's death and what to do.

Before my grandmother died she told me she read that was mighty true.

“Ignorance is bliss.” she said. “You think you would want to know about all the sad realities of the world, until you actually know. Whether the problem is humanitarian, environmental, or otherwise, it creates a hopeless feeling when you realize there is not much you can do to help and, in some cases, there is nothing you can do. All you can do is sit there and watch.”

Those words still linger in my head. But it was true.

It was the end if the day.Me and my friends were gathering the items we need for today at the store. a gun,gloves,plastic bags,etc. We payed one of the highschoolers $100. Even though we know she might use it on drugs. At least when Abit goes missing the purcheses weren't made by us meaning the suspicion would most likely be on the highschooler sense she made the purcheses. We didn't know if we should leave the body somewhere far so no one stumbles apon it. Was a good idea but we were killing her at twelve and having to get back at our houses at least before 3. The shot would be loud to. Somone would hear it and call the police plus we were gonna walk home. That's 8 miles front and back. Ike decided to at least get a little bit out of our neighborhood's range and pay the highschooler an extra $20 to drop us off near our houses.

The breeze was cool and the sun was midway. Me,Carmen,Ike, amd Seiko were at the park.

“I cant believe this.I-I dont want to get c-caught.”Ike was pacing back and forth.I kepty my head down Trying not to think about the event that was  going to occur in a couple of minutes. He was the only one sweating and babbering. Shivering and twitching.
Carmen walked up to Ike and held his both his hands. I perked my head up a little.

“Hey don't sweat it dude. Everything's gonna be fine. Just sit down next to my spot and breathe, Okay?”She put a hand on his arm. And he sat down 2 seats away.

Away from me me.

“Ill get us something to drink near the corner store.”

I watched as she walked off and mentally sighed. Did she have a crush on him or something?
Whatever. It's not the time to feel such things right now. Right now, its time to discuss. I check my phone and got a message from our get away driver and item getter who goes by the code name, Unstable.

“We need to start heading out. She said she will be meeting us by Walmart in 10 minutes.”

Lucky for us, the Walmart we are meeting at is actually near Abit's house and her bus gets at her house in 20 minutes. We walk for 8 minutes,get to her house in 7 and wait for 5.

“Well what about Carmen?” Seiko said.

I sweared silently to myself.

“Oh yeah. Totally forgot.”

After Carmen handed us our drinks. We started walking to Walmart. The whole walk there, Ike and Carmen were talking and giggling. And to be honest-

It was irritating the heck out of me.

Seiko hasn't spoken in awhile. Maybe I could start up some small talk. I heard she was a nice person,who would put family and friends before she even considered putting herself anywhere. I'm not like that. Though I wish I was.

“How are you feeling,Seiko? I feel like you are just trying not to freak out like the rest of us hahaha!” She giggled and nodded.

“Indeed I am. I was just thinking about something though Apollo.”I turned my head to face her.

“And what is that?” I lifted an eyebrow.

“Well,I have had this person on my mind, Im really not that funny. Im sure most people think im ugly and I've been scared we might get caught with what we are about to do and-” She started fidgeting with her hands. I've never noticed how pretty she was. Her brown hair was wavey and was midway down her back. Her eyes were a grey,greenish blue color.

“Hey.”I stopped her. Making Ike and Carmen look up in confusion with the sudden change of tone in my voice.

“You are beautiful,do you hear me? Don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise. We will not get caught. Understand?” I pointed at her. Of anything IM the one who should be thinking those things.

“Yeah, Im sorry. I said to much, didn't I?Just-Sorry-.” She blushed and gave a sheepish smile. I hugged her and to my surprise she hugged me back.

“Please, don't be.”

“AaAAAAaAaAA-”I started shaking her and she laughed out loud. Literally.

The walk was far but we managed.Unstable did not lie to us,she was behind Walmart with the supplies as promised.

“Take em' and knock yourselves out.” She dropped the bag at my feet and walked out of sight.

I picked the bag up and everyone got close to me,distinctively peeking their heads in the bag out of curiosity.

“Everything is coming together.” Carmen said.

She reached in the bag and grabbed the gloves. Feeling the leather before she distributed the gloves amongst us equally.
