Chapter 2- Bad Times at Beacon Academy; an Old Enemy Returns.

"Oh, I'm so happy my little sister and brother are going to beacon with me!" "Yang, let go!" "Come on, Yang, you're gonna mess up my gi!" Ruby and I pull Yang off of us long enough to sit back down. Ruby gets on her scroll, while I bring out a book from my bag and start thumbing through it, trying to find where I left off. Yang huffs, but sits down with us regardless, putting in her earbuds. The three of us sit quietly for the end of the flight, getting off the bullhead rather quickly. Ruby goes starry-eyed at the weapons, and Yang ditches us with her friends from Signal. The two of us walk until someone bumps into Ruby, knocking her own luggage over.

"Ow..." "What are you doing?! Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?!" The girl starts going off on Ruby, causing her to tear up, and making anger boil up inside of me. No one makes my sister cry. The white-haired girl is about to continue yelling at Ruby when I grab her arm, seething. "I suggest you leave her be. For your own sake." She looks at me, and I finally realize just who this girl is. "Excuse me?! Who do you think your talking to?! I'm-!" My grip on her arm tightens, making her buckle at the knees. "Weiss Schnee. Oh, I know full well who you are. And what you've done." She gasps in pain as my grip keeps tightening, and I would've kept going until Ruby grabs my own arm, snapping me out of my angered state. "Bro, let her go! She's in pain. You'll break her forearm if you keep going!" I blink, release the Schnee and calm myself, breathing deeply.

"Sorry about that. My brother's a little protective of me, hehe." Ruby rubs the back if her head, holding out her hand for the Schnee to take, only to have it smacked away. "Protective?! Your brother's insane! How could someone like him ever get into Beacon! And you! Aren't you a little young to be here? This is a school for people who are serious about becoming Hunters and Huntresses, not some combat school for kids like you two." I can feel my anger building up again with every word the Schnee says. "Ruby, I swear to the Kais, I'm going to punch her." She sees my hand clenching and unclenching, and puts her hand on my arm. "Calm down, bro. I don't know what your problem with her is, but if you keep this up, you'll only prove her right. This isn't you. You're calm, level-headed." Her voice quells my anger and brings me back to my senses.

"Listen, Miss Schnee, I don't know what you did to make my brother hate you so much, but I'd recommend not coming near the two of us. For your own sake." The two of us walk off, but not without a final comment. "Whatever, just keep that freak brother of yours in line." I stop, memories flashing into my mind at the word. You're nothing but a freak. A freak! What a freak. How could I end up with a freak like you as a son? I close my eyes, anger overpowering my sensibilities and making my tail flick back and forth rapidly. "B-Bro?" "Sorry Ruby, but I'm not letting this Schnee call me a freak again and get away with it." I turn around, eyes narrowing in on the Schnee, before walking forward. "Again? Wait you've met her?!" "You said you wanted to know what she did to make me hate her. Well you're about to find out. Hey, older sister, do you remember me? Or was I that worthless to you?!"

Weiss turns back to me just in time to see my fist connecting with her face, knocking her back. "Damn, that felt good. Alright. I'm good now. Just needed to get a little bit of the hate out of my system. Let's go, sis." The two of us continue walking away, my tail re-wrapping itself around my waist. Knowing Beacon's layout a lot more than Ruby, I manage to get us to the place we're supposed to go with almost no trouble. Of course, it would've gone smoother if a certain blonde, sword and shield using idiot hadn't shown up. It took all I had not to punch him.

"Ruby, Bro, over here! I saved you two a spot!" Oh thank the Kais, we can leave this blondie for our blondie. The two of us walk over to Yang, and Ruby starts explaining everything that happened up until now. "You! There you are!" "Oh god, it's happening again!" Weiss pops up out of nowhere, going off on Ruby again, and once more, I feel my self-control wavering. "Sorry mom, but I'm gonna lose control if I'm near a Schnee for more than three minutes. Weiss, back away from my sister, now." My voice makes her words cut off, and makes her freeze in terror.  I just crack my knuckles as a warning and reminder of what'll happen if she doesn't leave Ruby alone. That gets her to leave quick enough, making Yang give me a confused look. "I mean I know you're not a fan of Schnees, but I mean come on, Y/N. Don't you think that was a little harsh?" "Nope." I just lean on the wall, listening to Ozpin's speech. Very morbid, I must say. When everyone disperses, it's just me, Ruby and Yang left in the room, along with her. "I'm gonna go train. Take my mind off things. Later guys."

Ruby's POV

"Later, Bro! Man, ever since he saw that Weiss girl he's been super quick to anger. What do you think, Yang?" Yang nods before heading off towards where everyone else did, leaving me alone with Weiss, who stands next to me. "So....Hi?"

"Listen. I'm not entirely sure why your brother has a problem with me, but I think I have an idea." She looks at the door Y/N left out of, surprise in her eyes. "Yeah? What idea is that?" Weiss closes her eyes and breathes deeply. "Your brother, when someone grabs his tail, does he immediately freeze up? Like he's in incredible pain?" I blink a couple of times. "Yeah, he does. How did you kn-?" "I thought it might be him. Was your brother adopted?" I nod, thinking she'll cut me off again anyway. "In that case, my assumption's correct. I used to be his sister. Then one day, he just disappeared. No note, no nothing. Everyone thought he was dead. Including our mother, who loved him the most." I look towards the door Y/N left through, worry in my eyes. Bro, I really hope you've got a good reason for not liking this girl.
