My mom dropped at us at the country club and we walked into the hall where the party was being held.

And damn!

I knew Reyansh certainly had something grand in store for the party but I hadn't expected this much.

The whole place looked like it was out of a high school musical. The hall was dazzling with purple disco lights. Tables were laid out on one side and there was a food counter next to it. On the other side, I saw the DJ playing the latest Bollywood tracks and people were already dancing. Waiters were going around with glasses of strawberry smoothies.

I saw Reyansh talking with Abeer and Varun. Seeing us he waved and walked up to us excitedly. He looked impossibly good in a black tuxedo. If he was my boyfriend, I would have described him from page to page but since he is not, let's end it there.

I expected Mishti to hug him but she was most annoyingly helping herself to a strawberry smoothie.

She finally looked up and spotted Reyansh. "Oh hey! Happy Birthday!"

"Thanks" grinned Reyansh.

"Oh and the smoothie is very good! I didn't know you liked strawberry" she said unabashedly. I turned away and smacked my forehead.

Mishti was a hopeless case. I mean who on earth concentrates on a stupid strawberry smoothie over the coolest guy in school?!

"Girls carry on. I'll see you around." he said and went back to join Abeer and Varun.

"Mishti you are such a.." Zoya began

Mishti raised her eyebrows questioningly as she slurped her smoothie.

"Honestly, things more important than a smoothie are happening here.." she lectured Mishti.

"Hey are those Chicken Wings?" she said suddenly. I stared in confusion as she pounced upon a poor waiter passing with a plate of chicken wings and picked one and shovelled it into her mouth.

I turned away angrily and flounced off to find someone to talk to. My BFF's were behaving like five year olds!

A lot of familiar faces swarmed by.

Reyansh was certainly brave calling so many of our classmates and even some seniors inspite of not knowing any of these people for long. I had been in St Xavier's for thirteen years but hadn't managed to pick up the guts to throw a party at the country club.

I was a little confused to see a lot of girls from Aaliyah's clique. Even Maya was there. But she was looking sulky. This cheered me up slightly.

I even met Reyansh's mom. She was extremely stylish and definitely didn't look like she had a sixteen year old son. She was very like Reyansh. Extremely, vivacious.

I spotted Omkara standing close by the DJ and talking to a tall girl with long hair in a red outfit and stilettos. And then the pretty looking girl turned around. I was flabbergasted.

It was Aaliyah!

So Omkara was the guy with whom Aaliyah was coming?! But surely, he was aware of her vain personality?! He knew all about my animosity with her! And what happened to Lisa?!

I tried to slither away before either of them saw me. But unfortunately, Omkara spotted me, "Hey Riya, why don't you join us?".

"Bhaiya I was em..looking for.." I stuttered.

But Aaliyah cut me across, "Yes Riya join us, we got ourselves some soft drinks" she was actually smiling. It was pure lipstick coated nastiness.

Before I could retort her phone rang, "Excuse me..mom's calling" she said and walked away leaving me with Omkara and I instantly burst out.
