It was finally prom day! The last dance I'd go to as a high schooler. I was beyond excited.

It was almost 11am when I was on my way home from school. Since it was the day of our prom, the school allowed the seniors to leave early in order to get ready.

I was jamming out in my car, speakers blasting Getting Closer by Seventeen. I saw my favorite food place and decided to stop by to pick up something to eat.

After getting my food, I proceeded to go home. Once inside my house, I kick off my shoes and head to the kitchen to quickly eat.

It doesn't take long for me to finish eating and so I head upstairs to my room. Since I wasn't planning on getting ready right away, I decided to just pick out some shorts and a tee, along with my matching set of undergarments. I grab my towels and clothes and head to my bathroom to shower.

I get out the shower, put on my clothes and head back to my room. I place the clothes I was wearing earlier into my laundry basket and take off the towel I was wearing for my hair. After placing both towel on their respective hangers to dry, I go back into my bathroom and brush my hair. I decide not to blow dry it and let it air dry on its own.

I take my phone from my nightstand and head downstairs. I look through my notifications and notice my best friend had texted me.

bestie: hey babe don't forget I'm coming over to get ready!

bestie: I'll be there in a few :)

I almost forgot she was coming over. I text her back.

me: okay! I'll be here :)

I turn off my phone and put on some Netflix. I decided on watching that new Ted Bundy movie starring Zac Efron, damn he's fine.

Ten minutes into the movie, I hear knocking at the front door following numerous doorbell sounds. Judging from the continuous pressing of the doorbell, I know it was her.

I quickly pause the movie and head to the front door. At this point I am a little annoyed because she WON'T STOP. I swing open the door and go off.

"Can you stop?!"

She just laughs and pushes her way passed me, holding her dress along with her makeup bags and shoes. She walks into the livingroom and sees the movie title and gasps.

"You're watching it?! Without me?!"

I shrug my shoulders and plop back down on the sofa. (h/n) places her things on the arm chair and sits next to me on the sofa. I press play on the movie and we both watch, occasionally gushing over how good Zac Efron looked.
...
The movie is now over and it's almost 2pm. (h/n) and I decide to chill for another hour and watch some Sailor Moon on Hulu.

As we watch a couple of episodes, I can't help but think, "I wish I had someone who is just as nice to me as Mamoru is to Usagi." And my mind begins to wander off and I think about the nice guy in my math class. His name is Calum and I've had a crush on him for quite some time. I've known him since freshmen year and I've never gone around to actually talking to him. Only time we exchange words is when we're making a comment on something our mutual friend, Luke, says.

I must've been deep in thought for quite some time because the episode had ended and (h/n) was waving her hand in my face.

"(Y/n)? (Y/n)! Hello~ you've been spacing out for five minutes!"

"Oh, sorry I was just thinking about something." I say to her, sheepishly.

"Mhm okay~ you were probably thinking about Calum again, weren't you?" She asks me, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Stop, no I wasn't!" I say as I throw a pillow at her head. I could feel myself blushing.

"It's okay, (y/n)," she laughs. "But seriously though, you've liked the guy for a while now. If you don't make a move, he'll never know."

She's right.

"We'll see what happens," I sigh. "For now let's just start getting ready," we hop off the couch and I help (h/n) take her stuff upstairs to my room.
