Chapter 43

November 18th, 2017

" Strange, milk is sour again." I called out.

" Then time reverse it." Strange told me and I made a face. " But magic always gives it that weird after-taste." I pointed out and he gave me a look, before a loud pounding sounded on the door downstairs. I could hear him talking to someone, and sighed before making my way down stairs when I heard a loud thud, meaning that someone had just fallen down the stairs.

" And you complain about my manners." I grumbled, before coming to a stop on the top step when I saw Thor. " Thor?"

" Aria, it's been a while. How are you, and your other selves?"

" We're good. What are you doing here?"

" Odin has gone missing. Aria, there's something you need to know-"

A portal opened a few feet away and I looked over as a figure fell from it with a cry. " I've been falling, for 30 minutes."

I stumbled against the railing as Chloe tore herself free from her corner of my mind and rushed toward the dark haired man. I hated when they did that, it was like experiencing an entire roller coaster ride in a split second. That mixed with whiplash. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. I was barely aware of Chloe yelling at him as I tried to recover. " Chloe, I thought we talked about warnings when you do that." I wheezed, before following her down the stairs. Chloe paused in her rant as she turned to look at me with a frown, before turning back to Loki as he rounded on Strange. He started to attack him, before he and Thor were swallowed by a portal.

" You can yell at him later." I told Chloe, but as I started back up the stairs I lost all sense of my surroundings as my mind was pulled from the room. Images rushed passed me, to fast for me to see, but as they began to settle, I found myself standing outside of the bifrost. It happened almost in slow motion, a shock-wave of flames engulfed Asgard.

When I came back to reality, I was curled into a ball with my hands pressed to the sides of my head. " Aria, what did you see?" Chloe asked, but I didn't respond, I didn't have to because she saw it in my thoughts. " We need to go." Chloe said.

" Chloe-" I started to say but she had already opened a portal. " Chloe." I warned trying to get up, but she had already shoved me through. " CHLOE." I screamed as I found myself falling through the air. As I landed I became aware of the roaring crowd above me and a loud growling, which seemed to be getting closer. I quickly got to my feet as the source of the growling reached me and I found myself face to face with the Hulk. I flinched as he let out a loud roar that blew my hair back, before I let out a nervous laugh. " Hey, big guy. How you been?"

He raised his fist as if he were about to crush me and I launched a blast of blue energy at him, knocking him across the arena and into the wall. The hulk started to come back at me, but stopped as a large hologram of a guy with grey hair appeared in the sky. " Seems we have an unexpected new contender with us today."

I looked back at the hulk as he charged toward me again, and not seeing much of a choice I took flight, only to be yanked back down and tossed against the wall like a rag doll. The last thing I remember was hitting the wall, and then nothing more as my vision went black.

" Aria."

I blinked as I awoke, only to squeeze my eyes shut my head pounded. " Ow." I groaned before I was finally able to open my eyes. " Aria, I'm so sorry. I should have listened when you told me to wait." Chloe rambled from her place near my feet. I glanced around in confusion at the large room decorated in green. " Where are we?" I questioned

" Sakarr." A voice spoke up from the other side of the room and I glanced over to find Loki staring out the window with a frown. " A place in-between dimensions. A place where people are forced to fight and die for the amusement of others. You would have been amongst the dead, had you not been given your abilities. You shouldn't be here, Aria." He said turning to look at me and Chloe appeared in front of him with an ashamed look. " I brought her here. She had a vision, and-"

" About Asgard. It's destruction" I said cutting her off with a look and she let out a sigh. " Odin needs to be warned."

" Odin is dead." Loki told us. " My sister, Hela, has taken Asgard."
