10:17. That is the time when Devon came barging in my door. "We have to go now!" He seemed out of breath as he carried a duffel bag, along with a book bag on his back.

"What? Why? What happened? I asked hurriedly standing up. He grabbed my arm and started dragging me toward the door. "Where's Danny"? He asked as he continued pulling me.

"He's not here", I responded making him stop. He turned to me with a clear frown. "What do you mean he's not here?" He huffed out with wide eyes.

"He had to go say bye to his girlfriend. He'll be back soon. We weren't supposed to leave until eleven anyway", I retorted back. Devon obviously seemed in distress as he ran his hands through his hair uttering a line of curse words. "What's happening Devon", I asked scared of the answer. I was just hoping I wouldn't hear what I was thinking.

"My aunt knows". Those were the words I did not want to hear. Now I understood he rush. "I was leaving the artillery room and I heard my aunt talking to one of the guards. She said that you guys knew about your father and to find you immediately". This was worse case scenario. Danny needed to hurry and get back here so we could leave. There was no way I would leave without him.

"Rainy we can't just stand here. We gotta get out of here", Devon's voice spoke over my racing mind.

"I'm not leaving Danny", I made clear to him. He groaned in frustration and leaned against the wall. "This is bad", He muttered under his breath, just loud enough for me to here. As soon as he spoke those words Danny came through the door. He was not alone though. From behind him I could see the blonde girl from earlier.

"No... This is bad", I spoke referring to the green eyed girl who stood behind me brother with a book bag, that I bet was full of clothes. "What the hell Danny, this is not a road trip for you and her", I complained. He stepped closer to me and I could tell the pleading in his eyes.

"I understand Rainy, but she doesn't have a family. They are all dead. It's only her, and I can't leave her here alone". He spoke calmly and stayed collected as I was about to lose my shit. I didn't even know who this girl was.

"Well, it's too late to let her go now. We have to leave now. The guards know", I told Danny as I picked my bag up from the couch and through Danny his bag.

Danny suddenly went from calm to crazy in a matter of seconds. "What! How!?" He asked wasting no time in putting his bag around his back.

"My aunt must have found that the tape was missing and she is alerting the guards as we speak so let's get out of here before they bust in that door", Devon spoke while opening up the duffle bag. He handed both Danny and I a hunting knife and a gun.

"Don't use the gun, unless you have to. It will attract the infected". Devon told us something we already knew. Our father had told us this plenty of times.

I placed my gun in my bag and strapped it around me and danny put his in my belt loop. Devon looked toward Lexus. "I wasn't expected any extra passengers", he spoke.

"It's fine. I don't know how to use any of that anyway", She answered.

"Alright. Let's go". We headed out the door and we made our way silently to the escape route. We stayed in the shadows and close to the building. We did move out of a straight line and stayed close to together. When we saw a guard we would stay low and stay quiet. It took about ten minutes before we reached the back of an abandoned building.

"Give me a hand Danny", Devon insisted as he started moving the boards. Danny stepped away from Lexus to help Devon remove the boards. While waiting I decided to take the opportunity to check out this Lexus girl.
