"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!" I exclaimed. I had just bumped into someone, not paying attention to where I was going. I never was, I was always reading. That meant, I was constantly crashing into people.

"Oh it's fine." The person replied. He looked at me and my breath caught. He was beautiful. This boy, had slightly shaggy, I just rolled out of bed hair, and the most captivating sea green eyes. Oh and his muscles, I could see the outlines through his shirt and wow he was hot! My dream guy. I swear I almost swooned.

"Do you need any help?" I asked, noticing a paper which I assumed was a schedule. I had never seen him before, I certainly would have remembered such an attractive boy.

"Uh, yeah." He smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. He handed me the paper. And, I was right, a schedule.

"I'm Maxine or Max." I introduced myself.

"Percy."

"Alright, you have history first period, with Mr. Harmon. Luckily, that's my first period too."

"Great." Percy seemed to brighten at my words. I was glad, maybe he thought I was cute.

"To room 153."

Percy decided to sit with my friends and I during lunch. There was John, Micheal, Samantha, Jolie, Darien, and I. After, that he became part of our friend group.

It was now a few months later, and I had a growing crush on Percy. Samantha and Jolie knew, but I never told the boys. Most of the girls at my school had a crush on him as well. I wasn't one of the girls who dressed in inappropriate clothing and caked their faces with makeup for him. I was just myself around him and I hoped that he liked that.

On another note, my cousin from San Francisco, Annabeth, was coming to stay with me. I was thrilled, I haven't seen her in years but last time we talked, we shared common interests. Hopefully, we would still get along well. In, fact after school I was going with my mother to pick her up from up from the airport.

"Hey, you look excited, what gives?" Percy asked after school. He looked good today, well he always did.

"What I can't be happy?" I questioned. Percy just smirked at me. I rolled my eyes. "Ok fine, my cousin is visiting from San Francisco and I'm going to pick her up. She also will be attending school with us."
His mouth formed an O shape.

"Hey, Perce." Someone purred. We both turned around. It was Danny Parker, the school slut. She asked Percy out pretty much every day. And his answer was always 'no'.

Every time she did I got real mad. My eyes narrowed at the sight of her. Her spray tan, full face of make up, and the smallest articles of clothing you could find. She was the exact definition of a popular girl and a slut. A growl almost escaped my lips. I chose this moment as my time to leave.

I backed up slowly, and saluted to Percy. His eyes widened, begging me not to leave. I stifled a laugh. I turned on my heel and made my way towards my car.

Searching the faces of travelers I looked for my cousin. Through the thicket a girl my age stepped out. She was surprisingly beautiful. She had honey blond hair, an athletic build, and what looked like blue eyes. Basically, the definition of "California girl". She scanned the crowd looking for someone. When her eyes landed on me her face brightened, noticing the sign I was holding, she started to walk in my direction.

This was Annabeth? Wow. As she approached I realized her eyes weren't blue, they were gray. And, they were startling, they seemed to pick out your weaknesses and analyze your every move.

"Are you Maxine?" She asked. Even her voice was pretty. I was immediately jealous. She better not try to steal Percy. I hoped she wasn't stuck up.

"Yes. Are you Annabeth?" She nodded in response.
I smiled.

"My Moms outside, waiting in the car." I answered her unasked question. She smiled back.

On the ride home Annabeth and I caught up. She was still a big book worm like me. Although we were cousins, we didn't resemble each other much. My eyes were brown and my hair was dirty blond. My looks seemed much more bland next to her.

The next morning I drove her to school. "So when we get there i'll introduce you to my friends. Oh, and just so you know the 'most popular boy' in school hangs with us." I told her, using finger quotations at the words "most popular boy".

"Okay, who's he?" Annabeth asked.

"His name's Percy. Practically all the girls at school love him. I don't blame them though, he is really good looking. I have a crush on him, and I think he likes me back." I blabbered. Her eyes shone with amusement and a small smirk was playing her lips. I gave her a questioning look. She just shook her head in response.

Once we arrived I pointed them out in the school yard. "There they are."

When we approached they waved us over. "This is my cousin Annabeth, from San Francisco." I introduced her. Hi's and Hey's were exchanged. John and Micheal both were checking her out.

I noticed Percy wasn't there. "Hey where's Perc-"

I was cut off by a loud shout. My friends and I turn towards the source. There was Percy in all his hot glory. A blond blur shot passed me. It was Annabeth.

"Seaweed Brain!" She shouted and launched herself into him. How did they know each other?

He spun her around both giggling. When they came to a stop, Annabeth pressed her lips onto his. I waited for him to pull away and push her off. But, he didn't, he melted into the kiss. My heart broke.

"Hey! Cut the PDA." Damien shouted at the couple. They broke away blushing and made their way over to us.

"So, I assume you two know each other?" Josie asked.

"Uh, yeah. Guys, this is my lovely girlfriend Annabeth." Percy said. If it was possible my heart broke even more.

"Woah she's real!" Micheal exclaimed. "Nice catch."
Percy glared at him.

He was so protective over Annabeth it hurt. Her turned to me eyes shining. "So I assume Annabeth is your cousin?"

I nodded and he smiled big at me. I wanted to lash out so bad, saying Annabeth was no better than Danny. But, I couldn't do that to her. "I- I have to go to the library." I said, wanting to get out of there before the tears started to spill.

"I'll come too." Samantha and Jolie chorused.

We left leaving the happy couple with the boys. Instead of the library we went to the bathrooms, both of my best friends comforting me. I hope I find someone like Percy again.
