It was a cold, wet night. I walked slowly in my zipped up black jacket to a small store in a not-so-busy part of town. I opened the door and looked back at the moon. As I entered, it was quiet. There wasn't a single person in sight except the cashier. I looked out the large window at the front of the room. Eddie, my co-worker, gave me a thumbs up and then started the engine to his black van.
"Can I help you?"
I jumped at the words of the cashier.
"Ummm, yes ma'am can you get me a pack of cigarettes?"
She grabbed the pack I told her to and I anxiously stood there waiting for her to hand me the pack.
"That would be $4.65."
"Ummm, I don't have that much."
"Well if your going to buy them you need money."
She started putting the pack back in the case behind her but I pulled a gun on her before she could finish. She looked terrified as I held the gun at her temple.
" Okay, you can have the cigarettes just please don't shoot."
"I want the money in the cash register too."
" Okay just please don't shoot."
She seemed to hold her breath as she gave me the pack and the money. Even though I felt guilty for doing this, I still did it. I ran out the door and plunged into Eddies car as fast as possible. The cops were just showing up when we began to back up.
"Hurry!" I exclaimed as he slithered past them like a snake.
We raced past 3 red lights as we made our getaway. With lights flashing, I began to worry. Adrenaline pumped through my veins like a racecar when we aggressively turned the corner . Eddie suddenly jerked to the left, then to the right. Then the car started to slow down .I grabbed the door handle and took a flying leap into the nearby brushes. I was dead, I knew I was. No, I stood up and bolted into the woods. I heard dogs bark and the next thing I knew I was on the ground with leaves , dirt and sticks in my mouth.
I woke up in a secluded white room with another girl that I later on learn is named Kimberly or Kimmy for short. I stood up and minuets later a police officer escorted me to my new cell. On my way there I past a very attractive man with a small smirk on his face. He had brown hair that looked well groomed and all I could think was "WOW."
Little did I know that love at first sight was real.
P.s Devin stop judging you to Carlos!
