Once upon a time, there was a family of bears who lived in a cottage in the forest. The cottage was small, but it was homey and often times, animal skins could be seen drying in the sun on their white picket fence.
The bears lived a happy life. Mother Bear had many friends and several times, she would invite them to dinner. Mrs. Beaver, the Fox, and old Mr. Deer. She used to have many more, but her other friends, according to her, were always away.
Father Bear was a big bear. He towered over everyone else and his ears brushed the ceiling of their cottage whenever he was inside.
Baby Bear was a wee little thing. He was sweet and he was never spoiled. He always says "please" and "thank you." He had astonishing table manner and he would never eat before a blessing was said.
In the nearby village, there live a girl named Goldilocks, who, as her name suggests, had locks the color of gold. Goldilocks liked to explore the forest and her kindness would always result in her treating injured animals.
One day, Mother Bear made pies. They were special pies because the inside was a surprise. It delighted Baby Bear.
The pies were hot and Father Bear suggested to collect some berries for dessert while waiting for the special pies to cool.
Coincidentally, Goldilocks had reached their cottage right after they had left. She circled the quaint cottage and knocked on the wooden door.
Knock. Knock.
She knocked and she knocked but no one answered. Realizing that nobody was home, Goldilocks went inside the house to explore.
She saw the special pies and decided to have a taste. There were three pies. One was larger than her head, the other was the size of a normal pie, and the last was as half the size of a coconut.
Her hand held a wooden spoon when she noticed the ornate chairs made of a curious white material.
Interested, she dropped the spoon and proceeded towards the curious chairs. There were three chairs, just like the pie. The first one was huge, the second, normal sized, and the last was that of a child's.
She sat on the smallest chair and thought it was perfect for her. Soon enough, she got bored and decided to do some more exploring. She reached the cottage's bedroom and found three beds.
One was large and very very uncomfortable. The middle bed was normal sized but it was too soft. The third was just right and, tired from all her exploring, she fell asleep on the bed.
Meanwhile, the Bears had returned from their trip and, nearing the house, Father Bear saw the door was ajar.
The Bears rushed inside and found the cottage not quite how they had left it; the spoon was misplaced, the chairs unarranged, and there was a girl sleeping in Baby Bear's bed.
Awakened by their arrival, Goldilocks opened her eyes and saw the three Bears.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" she said, "I did not mean to stay here, but I was so tired, I fell asleep."
Mother Bear smiled and said, "We don't have to invite Mrs. Beaver after all."
Goldilock's vision went black. In fact, it was going to stay black for a long, long, long time.
The Bears, meanwhile, sat at their chairs made of animal bones and Baby Bear mannerly took a piece of the special pie and ate it thoughtfully.
"Oh, Mother! This is delicious!" he exclaimed, "I never expected old Mister Deer to taste this good."
"Thank you, dear." Mother Bear smiled in a preoccupied air, thinking of tasty ways to cook the human girl with golden hair.
