IT'S THURSDAY, ONE AND A HALF DAY LEFT BEFORE JOEY COULD RELISH SLEEPING IN LATE.
and also, thursday means that joey and danielle have to spend their only vacant together, while preparing for physical education as their last period.
physical education is everybody's dreaded subject.
it brings pain to everybody, especially to joey and danielle because they aren't really athletic and mainly, their teacher is annoying. she usually embarrasses people who struggle doing a specific sport or activity, specifically for this semester, it's ultimate.
so for their vacant, joey, danielle, and one of their tag-along friend, mae, are filling their stomach with food and resting their whole body for the ghastly four hour period. they know that their teacher wouldn't waste the four hours for measly lecture time, but they know that they're going out in the field and play ultimate. the class will be divided into four and the first two teams will compete with each other, while the remaining teams will do the same, thus having two sets of games. two hours will be allotted for each games and the waiting team will either cheer or rest.
"ugh, i really hate it whenever we have only one vacant," danielle whines, lying on the cold floor of their classroom. few people stays inside the classroom because others are either busy buying their snacks for their ten minute break during their physical education class or resting like what they're doing but in a more cool place.
"and this vacant does not have the same time with section a and c's vacant," joey bitterly mutters because she really wants to spend her time with her friends. yes, she loves spending time with danielle and mae, but there's this different vibe and noise whenever she's with rafaela and the others.
mae sighs and adds, "don't forget that we have to play ultimate for our grades."
flipping her calculus book, joey heaves a sigh, frowning at mae's comment. she likes ultimate, but joey rather prefers watching it than playing it herself. their field is huge and she doesn't want to run all the way just to catch a flying disk, but of course, she has nothing to do. their grades depended on it.
"ha! i only have to watch in the sidelines, but i have to spend my time taking note of your offenses and defenses, so it doesn't really have a huge benefit," danielle says, making joey furrow her eyebrows, glaring at danielle. noticing this, danielle asks, "what?"
danielle isn't allowed to play any vigorous activities, like ultimate, because she has severe asthma. so as a replacement from playing, she needs to take note of all offenses and defenses her classmates are making.
"i would rather watch rather than playing in the field, thank you very much," joey retorts, shutting her book, irritation coating her tone. "i mean the pressure is just there and i mean the other students have an earlier dismissal! they would most probably watch us play and that's the worst thing! half of our classmates watching our game is a huge thing, but what if other students watch too? they would obviously tell their friends about it!"
joey really hates being watched whenever she does something out of her league because mainly, she doesn't want to be embarrassed. i mean, who wants to be?
