(Willa's POV)
I woke up from what was possibly the best sleep I had in days or even months. I sat up against the cushions and rubbed my eyes to get rid of the sleep in them. I yawned and looked at my surroundings expecting to find my room with its Rock Metallica posters and photo wall but instead, I find neat, minimalistic, pastel posters with inspirational quotes on them. I was confused for a second then I realised I was in Ro's room. Oh no, I was in Ro's room!
"What time is it?" I mumbled to myself while I frantically tried to find my phone. I looked at the time on it. It said eight o'clock at night. What happened? How did I end up getting here? What about dad I thought. I hurriedly unlocked my phone and looked at my messages. My dad tried to call me about twenty-one times and had messaged me about seventy-four times. I swiftly decided to call my dad to let him know I was alright.
"Ring ring. Ring ring. Hello, who is this?"
"Um, Dad it's me."
"Willa! Where have you been? I have been worried sick!"
"I know I'm – "
"The school called up and said you weren't there. I thought maybe you had another one of your mysterious outings or something, but you usually pick up your phone. So, I was worried when you didn't." My dad said mid-through my sentence.
"I know. I know. I know. I'm so sorry. I forgot to tell you where I was."
"Oh, honey it's ok. Mrs Devlin called me around five o'clock telling me that you were asleep the whole day at the Devlin's house! Is there something that you need to tell me about?"
"No. It's just that I needed some girl advice I guess about Mom's diary she gave me."
"Sorry," my dad gushed out. "Well as long as you're ok, I'm ok."
"Yeah, I'm fine dad. Also, dad?"
"Yeah?"
"Is it ok if I bunk over at the Devlin's house tonight?"
"Of course. Whatever makes you happy." He said sadly.
"Well, I love you, dad."
"I love you too Willa."
"Ok, well I'll see you tomorrow maybe?"
"Yeah see you tomorrow Willa. Have a good night sleep."
"Yep, you too," I said trying to end the call. My dad then hung up and I let out a breath of air that I didn't realise I was holding. I then was about to put my shoes on and try and find Ro so I could talk to her when Karl startled me.
"Sounds like someone has parental issues." He said rudely.
"Yeah well, you're a gobermouch!" I said huffily while putting on my shoes.
"Ouch! Someone has woke up on the wrong side of the bed." He retorted.
"Says the one who hasn't brushed their hair today!"
"Well because of that I am not letting you out of your room." He stated.
"I guess I'm going to huff and puff you out of the way!" I said loudly.
"Hey, snotto move out of the way," Ro said matter of factly.
"Nope, she needs punishment." He answered back.
"Excuse me she really doesn't." Then she whispered so quietly that I almost couldn't hear. "Karl, she knows. Like the whole messed up truth."
Karl stepped out of the way not before flinching at the words she said. "Is it true Willa that you know the truth about your mom?"
