"Izza, come on. Why are you making us do this?" Janine whined.
"Yeah, why not spray a little febreeze, wipe a lil bleach and call it a day?" Sean chimed in as well.
I glare down at them in disgust, my hands on my hips. "You either take the couch out of here, or you'll be out with it. Pervs." A snippet of last night rewinds in my head, and I immediately shiver. My eyes open back to my friends, who, including me, have been out all morning dragging the piece of furniture outside, and arguing over the situation. I catch glimpse of a wet spot on the cushion and I want to hurl. "I feel like just setting it on fire..." I press a hand on the door, standing against the wall to let them push the couch outside. My back pocket vibrated and almost immediately, (I'm ashamed to admit) I let go of the knob and scanned my screen for a call from Keisha.
"Izza! What the hell, hold the door!" Janine whined after me, but I ignored her, and giggled down the hall.
"I'm sorry, I have to answer this!" She sighed.
" You know, one day we'll move out on our own! And you'll miss us!"
"I doubt it!" I made sure to turn, and yell down the hall, back to her. "But if you do, you are free to take the couch with you!"
"Iiiizzzzaaa!!"

"Hello?" I said in the softest tone I could ever speak in. My fingers turned the lock on the door to my room.
"Hey." The minute I heard her speak, it sent a shiver down my spine. I fell onto my bed and stared at the ceiling. I felt like I was in highschool all over again. I waited for her to say something more, as the same feeling I experienced that night in the club slowly came over me.
"What you doing?" She asked, her voice sounding groggy and smooth. I told her I was just laying down, watching tv.
"Yeah? Why is it so quiet then?"
I giggled embarrassingly loud, trying to explain to her even though she laughed over me, interrupting me with 'uh-huh's'.
"No, wait, I.. I turned it off cause you called, I did!"
"Of course, of course. I ain't say you was lying. I just said uh-huh." She chuckled, her deep voice caused my bones to rattle.
"What you doing today?" I asked her, fingering through the thick locks of my hair as I listened to the voices in the background.
"Nothing.. Chilling with my boys.. You can come over if you want."
"Are you asking me or suggesting?" I giggled, allowing suck risky words to escape my throat.
"You funny ma..." She chuckled again. "But forreal though, I'm asking."
"Well-"
"OW, DAMNIT SEAN!" Janine's voice shot through the entire house, perhaps even the neighborhood. I broke into a small fit of giggles, assuming Sean dropped something on Janine or injured her in some sort of way.
"...I'll see if I can."
"Yeah, you sound like you have something to take care of back there."
I smiled. "Alright, I'll text you."
"Mhm. See you then." I clicked the red button ending the call, and hopped off the bed.
"Can I get one moment of peace to myself?!"
