Onika's POV
January 21st(7:26am)
"Come on come on! You people act like you can cruise at seven in the fucking morning!" I complained as I drove to school, normally I wouldn't care about what time I get to school but this time it's different since Bey isn't with me. She went with her parents for the weekend and I don't really know how long she'll be staying with them right now Solange said it's between Wednesday and Friday seeing how she'd do with the distance, so far I'm hoping good. She hasn't called or text at all which I'm not all too worried about I mean she should enjoy her family.
I turned down the street that my school was on and started to slow because of school zone, after forever I finally got a good parking spot and turned off my truck I got my things and went into the building hoping she wasn't already here. I smoothly rushed into the school while looking around at everyone else seeing if she was doing the same, I made it in to my locker hearing small whispers but I didn't listen.
I put my things in my locker that I wouldn't need until later, I turned around to see the Rob and Solana coming over to me with confused face. "Where's Bey?" Solana asked as she stopped in front of me and Rih leaned against the lockers "She's with Solange, she stayed with them" I nodded a bit and Solana hugged me "I know you're sad" she whispered to me "No I-"Nika don't lie" she added before pulling back. "I'm sure she's fine" Rih said and I looked at her nodding with a small smile "I know she is.." I softly spoke. We continued to talk until Solana tapped my arm and Rih nodded to something behind me.
I turned around only to be engulfed in a tight hug, I looked down to blonde and brown hair covering my chest as tears wet my neck. "Baby? Baby what's wrong?" I asked wrapping my arms around her securely she just sniffles and continued to cry, "Our dad took her phone when she got there.." I heard Solange say leading my eyes to look at her. "What happened?" I asked going back to looking at Bey pulling her closer to me rubbing her cheek moving her hair as well, Solange just tilted her head to Bey "Tell me what happened baby?" I asked looking down at her once again. She just sniffles and shook her head no "You have to tell me mamas.." I whispered kissing her forehead "H-He took my ph-hone and said I-I can't have it because I-" she broke down even more and I pulled her closer "Tell me little fry.." I softly pressed.
"He said I-I was failing and-and that you were why.." she cried in my neck with her hands gripping my shirt "Shhh shh it's okay.." I tried to soothe while looking at Solange confused 'I don't know why' she said shrugging some "Come on baby lets go to the restroom and clean you up" I whispered to her lifting her head seeing her tear stained cheeks and red hazel eyes. She didn't nod but just looked at me so I pecked her lips and led her to the restroom, we made it inside with me kicking everyone out so they wouldn't see her so distraught.
I picked her up and sat her on the sink after locking the door and held her close, "What else did he say honey bee.." I asked quietly as she silently cried and tried to stop herself from doing so. She sniffles before pulling her head from my neck and looking me in the eye "He said that he knew that something is going on between us and he tried to go through my phone but my mom stopped him" she sniffled audibly gulping and looking away from me. I don't know what to say, I'm mad that he thinks that he can run her like he does and even more so disgusted by his actions for doing this "He doesn't want you and me together..." I softly said even though I wanted fight him but I knew if I had shown that she would shut down and I don't need her doing that not right now. "But I wanna stay with you" she said in her innocent little voice "Me too, but you know you always have a choice on whether you go with them or not. You still by law and on papers live with me and mama until you choose where you want to go or if you want to leave." I spoke looking into her sad eyes she nodded looking at me before wrapping her arms and legs around me "Don't leave me please" she said making my heart break.
