Today was the first day back to school, it was winter now, freezing as always. I could just see more kids coming into school today. We always have new students every year, the good thing was I have my friend with me, we've known each other for years now, her name is Bethany, Beth for short. We have always agreed with each other and have always been together, until I had to move away for a while, but I came back, and we're as close as ever. The day I came back everything was different, apart from my group of friends of course, everything just changed. You can defiantly say there were more girls drooling over boys when I came back.

I suppose I should tell you a little about myself, my name is Lola Elwood, I am currently 17 turning 18 later in the year. I go to Westbrook college, where there is absolutely no drama, nothing, just boring everywhere you look or go. I live with my younger sister called Victoria, she's 14, my mum, who is super sweet, and my dog, Buffy, she's really cute I must say. Your probably wondering why I don't live with my dad, well, he moved away a few years ago for work, he's coming back next summer for a while, which I'm hugely excited for, we Skype nearly every night, with my sister and mum around usually, because of course we all miss him. My friends know about it, and they are really supportive. Considering I'm going to talk about my friends a lot in this, I should tell you their names. There's Bethany, who is my closest friend, so we're always together, she's the funniest in our group. Kenna, who is the supportive one. Naomi, who is the shy one, and there's Erica, who is basically the boss of our group. I'm known to be the mix-it one in the group, because I'm just mixed with shyness, bossiness and funniness.

Bethany and I were sitting down at the benches outside the bus stop to get to school, it was almost going to pour down with rain, we were sat for about 20 minutes, as the bus is always late, so we expected it to be, Bethany and I were talking about what we were going to do the first day, we wrote down heaps of things.

"We should go to our spot and sit in a circle like old times with the girls." Beth suggested.

I nod. "And talk about boys? Gossip?"

She nods. "Totally." We laugh for a while until the bus finally arrives. We sat at the back, where we'd usually sit, and texted the girls about our plans. Most of the bus rides we have are consisted of chatting loudly and talking about imaginable things, like getting a boyfriend one day... I thought that one was funny. Beth and I have always talked about getting a boyfriend at one stage. It's always things like 'he has to be tall' or 'he has to be really protective', well, if you ask me, he just needs to love. Bethany and I only know two guys that are close to us, we hung out at school all the time, their names are Calum and Michael. Thing is, they moved, so we don't see them as much.

"Hey lola." Bethany nudges me. I turn to face the window, we've arrived at school, once again, though, it's changed a lot, it's much bigger, I definatly wouldn't see this as a college anymore. We get up and step out of the bus, beth and I stood close the whole time, out arms wrapped around eachothers.

I whisper. "Why is everyone staring at us?"

Bethany's shoulders lift up, shrugging. "I don't know."

"Stay close." I whisper back. We walk down the pathway into the locker rooms, where we meet our new principal, Mrs Garcia. Let me just say, I think were going to have a rough time at school with her. Why? Well, we had some history.

"Elwood, How are you?" She says in a sarcastic tone.

"I'm fine." I roll my eyes, avoiding her as much as possible.

She turns to bethany. "And what about you miss harris?"

Bethany nods, being as nice as possible. "I'm great. Thanks for asking."
