I don't have much to say here, but thanks so much for reading! Enjoy!
I walked outside my house and step into my car. I put the key into the ignition, and it hummed to life.
"Ready to go?" Chris asked. "New semester and all, wanna make sure you have your stuff-"
"Oh, crap!" I exclaimed. "I forgot my new schedule on my desk!" I sprint back inside, grab it, and hurry back down the stairs, out the door, and back into my car.
"Thanks for looking out for me again, Chris," I said. "And I'm sorry."
"So you keep saying," he replies indifferently. "Come on, you've got exactly six minutes before your class starts. Let's get a move on!"
I put my foot on the pedal and I drove down the road, on the way to the college I was enrolled at.
"You've got four minutes."
"Not now, Chris," I said through gritted teeth. I could still get there on time if I sped up a little. I applied more pressure onto the brake.
"Three minutes." I kept driving, surely past the speed limit at that point.
Soon enough, I make it to campus with two minutes.
"Nicely done, Ash," Chris said. "Maybe you'll get to where you need to be, and do what you should."
"Chris, I'm really sorry," I said, hanging my head low. I remembered what had happened at the lodge a couple days earlier, the terrible crime that I had committed.
"So you keep saying." I looked up. "But sorry isn't going to bring me back to life, Ash."
For the first time since I had betrayed him, I saw him: the guy of my dreams, holding his head in his hands, the blue eyes that I had once admired, blank and dead. A lifeless body, lost in the mistakes that I made.
I grabbed my items, and made a run inside the building, tears streaming down my face. But I was too busy looking at my schedule, I ran into someone, dropping all of the stuff in my arms everywhere.
I kneeled down to pick up everything, but the person who I had ran into already beat me to it.
"I'm so sorry about that," the guy says. He noticed my tears and my wet eyes. "Oh no, I didn't mean to upset you. Here, let me help you up." He offered his hand to me. "I'm Christian."
He had blue eyes.
Like Chris.
But he wasn't Chris.
No one was.
No one will be.
"No, no, no," I said. "No... you're not him... you're not Chris..."
He looked confused and slightly offended. "Uhhh, I was just trying to help, but-"
"NO!" I shouted. "YOU AREN'T CHRIS! NO ONE IS! HE'S GONE!"
I turned and ran. I wanted to run forever; I wanted to escape the past and my regret.
I found myself in the nearest bathroom, sobbing. I looked up into the mirror, and re-lived the lodge: I saw my own reflection on the door, giving a blank stare as I watched him die, his head torn off his body, and thrown onto the ground, and the life from his blue eyes become extinguished.
Only this time, no one was there to drag me away. This time, I was forced to watch him lay there, as I was consumed in my own guilt for committing a murder.
Once again, thanks for reading! I really hope you like what I have so far, and I do have more in store. I'm planning on releasing the next chapter in the near future (within the next couple days). As always, constructive criticism/remarks are always appreciated. Until then, see ya!

Until Dusk
FanfictionThis story takes place following the events of Until Dawn. It focuses on one particular character, Ashley (one of my favorite characters). I will (be attempting to) write about her life after the lodge.
