I stand still... heart pounding... I hear whistles from the wind racing through the trees and by my ear. Its Dark... Im out of breath but I have to keep going... THEY... they are after me. I dont know what they are. I just know they are close behind. I have to keep moving. I run through the forest heart racing. I keep running, but hear many footsteps behind me... They found me. It's too dark to see anything. I can just hear the crunching of leaves and the snapping of twigs. As I run, I try to keep my steps as quiet as possible. I have to lose them. My life depends on it. The footsteps behind me begin to fade away. I stop to catch my breath. I then continue running and decide to climb a tree. The bark crumbles to the touch. I then heaved myself up and hid myself in the leaves. Im safe... Well at least I feel safe. I try to calm myself down. My heart keeps pounding, I just hope I lost them.I can't sleep... Im too scared. I'm afraid that if I close my eyes, I will never open them again. A chill ran down my spine... I begin to hear more footsteps. It sounds like there are at least five of them. I see the light of day seeping through the trees. It's still hard to see but it allows me to see the silhouettes of them. My heart starts racing. They are not human. One walks into a little patch of sunlight. There skin is very pale and they are so skinny, that they are basically walking skeletons. On there front hands, there are very long claws and their hind legs are bent just like a dog. Their backs are arched, so you can see the details of their spines. One of their heads turn in my direction. Its face was terrifying. Tears begin to roll down my cheek. Their eyes are completely white and there mouth has no lips but they have jagged sharp teeth. I begin to shake and my hands tremble causing me to nearly fall of the tree. But instead of me, a large chunk of bark hit the ground with a huge thud. I close my eyes and all I hear are the terrifying shrieks of the creatures. I open my eyes to see all five of the creatures running towards the tree that I'm standing on. My body froze with fear as I hear the crumbling bark hit the ground as they try to climb up the tree. I dont know what to do. Tears begin to roll down my eyes. I try to think of what I should do, but the only thing that I thought of was trying to distract them so that I can run away. It's the only idea I got so I will just have to try it. I tear a huge piece of bark of the tree... The bark crumbles in my hand. I chuck the bark as far as I can... THUD... I then again hear the awful blood curdling screams of the creatures. I hear the twigs snap underneath their feet. I climb down the tree as fast as I can and book it. I sprint as fast as I can through the forest, weaving through the trees. The wind whistles past me. I can't hear them anymore... I cant stop... if I stop, they will find me... I keep moving. My breath is heavy and it feels like my lungs are going to burst through my chest. Thoughts race through my mind as I breathlessly run. The only thing I can think of is if this is a dream. Before all this happened It was calm and peaceful. I was having a family campout. We were singing songs and telling scary stories. Eating delicious food and dancing. When we went back inside our camper I heard strange noises. My father said it was probably some animals walking around, and of course I believed him. My family went to bed, but I couldn't sleep. The noises were getting closer and closer. I got to scared so I hid in the bathroom in the back of the camper. Tears begin to roll down my face as I hear the camper door burst open and the screams of my family fill the room. I begin to cry but then I hear my dad scream, "RUN!... SADIE, RUN!" I pulled up the small window in the bathroom and I squeezed through the tiny space. I fall to the ground... they heard me... I heard the shrieks of the monsters and they begin to chase me. I sprint into the forest and everything past that is a blur. But now I have to keep running.
I run into the deep ocean of trees that I always kept out of. It was dark and cold. I could barely see. But I have to keep going. I run and run until I've gotten so far that I can't see anymore. Everything is so quiet, I think I lost them. But, my family. They were in the camper as the monsters crept in ripping them apart. I left them. I left my family. "Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" I scream to the top of my lungs. I scream so loud that I think I've just lost my voice. I've screamed so loud that every creature in the never ending forest was awake. In a flash, the creatures were surrounding me. Their white milky, lifeless eyes were all focused on me. There were tons of them. Leaving me with no space to breathe.
