Trust

This is Daniel. He is Alexander's best friend. He is 6'0. He is toned, but not as much as Alexander. And he's also trying to get 6-pack.         

              -Alice Brown POV-

I do not believe him.

That lie he told me about taking a "run" is so sad. Alexander never lies to me. He tells me everything and now he's lying to me.

At least I think he's lying to me..

But why? We tell each other everything. Why would he just suddenly switch up?

Ugh.. Life is so confusing!

I acted like I believed him because I didn't need to cause a scene. He just took my hand, like he always does, and we started heading home.

We both stayed in silence. It was a comfortable silence though, not an awkward silence.

At least that's what I made him think.

I'm not saying anything because I don't know what to say to him when we get home. How am I going to confront him about him lying to me?

"Whatcha thinking about?" Alexander asks, interrupting my thoughts.

"Nothing really." I lie.

"Alright then. Anyway, how was school?"

"Fine." I reply.

He stops and lets go of my hand. I stop a few steps ahead of him and turn around.

"What's wrong?" I ask, putting on my fakest smile.

He squints at me and seems to be in thought. He looks a little confused.

"What's wrong with you?" He asks a little loud.

"What do you mean?" I ask. "I'm perfectly fine."

"No. Everytime I ask how school was, I get a long ass response. The only time you give me a short response is when something's up."

I stay quiet and look down. He must notice that I'm hiding something, so he comes closer. He tilts my head up. My eyes are tearing up. He looked worried and  pissed when he saw me like this.

"Are you ok?! Did someone do something to you?! Did someone hurt you?! What ha-"

"YOU!" I yell. I can't wait until we get home. He has to know now. He has to know that I'm hurting because of him.

I look up at him, my eyes full of tears so much that if I blink they fall out. He looks shocked. He comes closer to me and pulls me into a hug.

"Whatever I did, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. But I don't know what I did and I need you to tell me."

I push him off me. Angry.

He's still lying to me. He's acting like he doesn't know that he lied to me.

"WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME?!" I yell at him, not caring about the people around me who are staring.

He doesn't say anything at first, then he says, "What are you talking about?"

Tears start to fall out of my eyes. Why is he still lying to me? How much has he been hiding from me?

He starts to walk towards me. He stops in front of me and looks down at me. I look up and slap him across his face.

We've never put our hands on each other unless we were play fighting, but we made sure to be gentle. This is the first time I've hit him with all my strength. I need him to feel how I feel right now.

Pain and hurt.

He turns his head back to me and looks shocked. I look at him for a couple of seconds and turn around to go home. I can't take it anymore. He lied to me. Again.

I heard him yelling my name, but I didn't care. He runs up to me and goes in front of me.

"Leave me the fuck alone!" I yell.

I never curse, but when I do he knows it's serious. He steps aside and puts his head down. I continue walking, not looking back at him.

I reach home and open the door. My mom is in the livingroom watching a movie. She pauses the movie and gives me a hug.

"Where's Alexander?" She asked.

A few seconds later, Alexander comes through the door. The cheek where I slapped him had turned red. Mom looked at him and saw it. She went up to him.

"What happened?" She asked as she touched his cheek.

"Nothing." He mumbled.

He looked at me and I looked away. My mom realized that there was tension in the room between Alexander and I. She kept looking at me, then Alexander, me, then Alexander.

Alexander started moving towards me. But I moved away to go walk towards the stairs.

"I'm going to my room." I said.

I could feel Alexander staring at me. But I didn't look back. I just went into my room and plopped on my bed.

He just lost my trust, completely.

Hey! Author here. Sorry I'm not updating often. I've been very busy and had a lot of work to do. Also sorry if this chapter is too short. I have to go do the dishes. 😭😭 I hope you liked it though. See you next time. 😅❤
