Chapter 2

I could hardly pay attention in school knowing I would have to deal with that girl who would most likely kill me for telling her off but it was my last period so I didn't have much more time to decide on what I am supposed to do after school, go find her and follow her out and have her possibly beat me up or just walk out with the little orphaned kitten, I was brought out of my thought process by the teacher snapping his fingers in front of my face a couple of times.

"Adam, there may be ten minutes left of class but you need to keep working"

"O-Oh right" I responded "I'll get to it"

He nodded and walked up to his desk until I noticed something written on the whiteboard 'Substitute teacher: Mr. Patton' I laughed to myself a little, I mean who hires a sub to teach a class on the second week? It might be just me because my school wasn't like this, more strict with rules and the teachers were there most of the time other than one or two times, then I noticed the kids starting to packing up, I kinda glanced at everyone before hesitantly putting my things away and when all the kids stood up and crowded the door I stayed seated, I don't know what it was about me but I just hated being in a large group of people which means I hardly survived my trip to New-York City, yeah I had about two panic attacks a day for a week there, then the bell rung and I grabbed my bag and stood up and slowly made my way out the door, I was gonna take a quick trip to the office and grab little Moe and then hopefully not get killed by pinky next to the school or in an alleyway, I scooped up my little guy and ran out and went to the library to find her waiting outside the doors on her phone, I took a deep breath and walked up to her, she glanced in my direction and let our a little growl before turning to me and smiling but other than that her expression didn't change.

"Hello Adam"

"Hey?"

I watched her lip twitch a tad "I guess we should get going"

"I guess"

She quickly walked past me and I tried to keep up with her but I had to jog next to her to keep her pace again then she went to a walking pace which caused me to bump into her, she stumbled forward and I went back a little.

"Watch it!" she hissed

"Hey! You're the one who stopped right in front of me"

"Yeah well, maybe you should be able to walk faster!"

"And maybe you should slow down"

"And maybe you should both shut your traps!" one of the teachers snapped at us "stop with the arguing and leave!"

The girl sighed "whatever fatso"

The teacher's eyes widened with disgust as she walked away, I slowly followed knowing she would probably get mad If I didn't, once I got outside the kitten in my arms cried out as I touched its paw which made her stop instantly and glare back at me.

"W-What? I didn't do anything!"

"Sure you didn't dumbass!" she grumbled as she turned and came toward us, she immediately scooped him out of my arms once she came back and turned her back on me

"Hey give him back!"

"And why should I?"

"I'm not gonna let you kill the little guy like you did all of the others"

She grew quiet, really quiet and just stood there as she played with the kitten who had fit into just one of her hands and caught him if he ever toppled over but other than that she didn't move and I didn't make an attempt to either even though people stared at us as they walked to their cars, she pulled the kitten close to her and muttered something under her breath before taking off on a full on sprint down the sidewalk, I was in shock and before I knew it she was too far away for me to catch up to her, I sighed at that moment because I gave up on her already, no I give up on this school, it's insane how all the people I meet are too energetic or too quiet, I jumped to the sudden brush against my arm and I looked over to see Maddie hanging on my arm
