Moving days have always been difficult. Whether it was leaving home, or the thought of starting a new somewhere else. I just wasn't in my best state when I said goodbye to the place I had called home for the last two years.
I slowly rolled my bags out onto the curb, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in my stomach. My step mum, Rose, and my dad were meeting me at the airport, which conveniently, was only a half an hour drive from the house.
Throwing my bags into the cab, I looked back at my house one last time before moving up to the front seat, telling the driver where to go, and closing the car door behind me as quickly as I could.
There was no going back now.

I hated planes. And no, It wasn't the height, nor was it the fear of falling that made me loathe these horrible contraptions. It was the thought of being stuck in a small space, surrounded by way more sweaty people than I could handle.
If one of us is sick, we're all as good as dead...
I silently cursed myself for reading that horrid article on air born diseases yesterday.
To calm myself down, I took a few long breaths.
Think soothing thoughts...
And slowly but surely, I started to calm down. It was in this moment of peace that I looked at my dad and step mum. They both looked so relaxed, my dad sleeping, and Rose reading a book.
Even just looking at my dad brought a smile to my face, he was such a carefree man. With his dirty blonde hair, similar to mine, and his bright blue eyes that always seemed to have a certain spark, or twinkle to them.
Then there was my step mum, with dark brown hair, and bright blue eyes and a megawatt smile, she was absolutely a beautiful woman, inside and out.
Then there was me.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate myself, but I wasn't someone who would catch your eye on any given day either. I was tall, about 5'7 with slim legs and arms, a nonexistent ass, and boobs that weren't particularly eye grabbing. If I was asked though, I'd say my best feature was my eyes. They were quite large, and a vibtant shade of green with floating specs of light blue. And surrounding them was a thick set of long dark lashes.
But other than that, my face was pretty ordinary, a nose, a mouth, some freckles here and there, and skin. Alot of skin.
But that's it.
No wait. I also have a big mouth. As in I don't really have a filter, that I use. Ever.
That's why when the man behind me sneezed for the seventeenth time, I snapped.
"Excuse me sir." I turned around looking at the heavy set man sitting directly behind me. " If you sneeze into my hair one more time, I'm pulling the emergency latch." I said giving my best 'I like to play with fire' smile.
The reaction I received was a mere gasp , and a look of disgust.
I can live with that.
And with a quick wink, I spun back around and started to relax in my seat. I'd be seeing my best friend Leanna tomorrow. Considering school started in only a couple of days and we still needed to get settled in our new apartment. That's right, I said it, apartment.
Leanna and I had been so well behaved, our parents decided they'd let us move into our own little condo. We still hadn't seen it yet and I was bursting at the seams with excitement. It may only be a block away from our parents houses, but it was a step towards independence that I was more than willing to take.

Sorry it's so short people, I just wanted to bust out a quick chapter!
