Failed love

Lena's pov

„I can't do this, Kara" I can't look into her eyes, i hear the soft quiver in her voice, making sure i I know she's crying and I can't see her like that. Kara is there right in front of me, heartbroken. I've never seen her like this nor did i ever want to.
„you said you loved me" she can even speak without her voice breaking, I did this to her. i do want her, I want her so bad. I love her more than anything in the world. she's showed me nothing but love, true love.
But I'm a luthor...my mother is gonna kill her, especially once she finds out, which she will, no doubt. i cant take that risk, i couldn't.
i can't be the reason she gets hurt, even if it breaks my heart.

„Kara" I softly grab her beautiful face with both my hands, kissing her softly, her mouth opens for me, our tongues moving in sync.
it's a long, passionate kiss only confirming the feelings i have for her, she's my world. I kiss her forehead, „I do love you, I love you more than anything, Kara Danvers"
A tear is rolls down her cheek and i can feel myself getting lost in her ocean blue eyes, they're filled with hope „then why can't you be my girlfriend?"

i cant give her an answer and she collapses into my arms, crying into my shoulder „because I'm a luthor and you're a super, I can't because I don't want to put you in even more danger" she takes a moment to look at me „but Lena I love you, I would do anything for you, anything!" She sounds so fragile, I've done this to her...I'm breaking her heart right now. „Kara" she looks down, not reacting „Kara" I try again but still she won't look at me. „Please look at me" that's it, i can't hold back the tears anymore, I burst out in tears next to Kara. now we're both just crying messes.
She finally looks up, shocked from my sudden outburst she quickly gathers her own thoughts and quickly picks me up, carrying me into the bedroom.
she softly puts me me down onto her bed „Lena- I'm always gonna love you, I- I'll wait for you" she hands me one of her oversized t-Shirts that i could wear.
"i promise" she sniles through the tears in her eyes
i dont want to wait. i want her now, I need her.
i try to force a smile „It's gonna be worth the time Kara, I'm gonna be yours." there it is, it's weak but it's there, that smile. I love to see it, I'll never get tired of it and most importantly never of this incredible woman. „Please join me" I say, tired of crying. She smiles and cuddles up to me, her arm resting on my chest as I slowly drift off to sleep in Kara's arms.

[3 hours later]
I wake up because of Kara crying, i check the time and its 3 am, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it's my fault that she's suffering.
I turn around to face her, softly kiss her cheek and place her head on my chest so she could listen and feel my heartbeat, I know she loves to do that even if she has super hearing, that's how she loves doing it the most. She smiles in her sleep. „I love you kara" I say quietly before falling asleep.
