Peter Parker

"I'm on my way home now, dad. I'm two blocks away," I tried reassuring my worried father.

"You know I don't like you walking the streets at night. Just stay on the phone."

"I'll be fine dad." My phone beeped and I took a glance at it before putting it back to my ear. "My phone's gonna die I'm gonna hang up."

"Hurry, please. I love you."

I laughed. "I'll be okay. I love you too."

It wasn't uncommon for me to walk home. Where I meet my friends to study isn't far from my apartment so I walk to and from. It's usually once a week we meet. Usually my best friend Peter walks me home because we live in the same complex but he wasn't there tonight. He's been skipping a lot of our after-school activities for some time now. Not too sure why.

I jumped at a crashing sound behind me. I turned around quickly and saw a trashcan knocked over, a cat sitting beside it. I laughed to myself. Scared of a cat, wow.

When I turned around a figure was now standing in front of me. I screamed but they quickly put their hand over my mouth.

"Don't scream, I'm so sorry!" The person said in a hushed tone.

I pushed them away and took a couple steps backwards. I realized that I knew the person. I had never met them but I had seen them a lot of time on TV and Youtube.

"You're that guy on TV, t-the Spider-Dude." I kept my distance hesitantly.

"S-Spiderman," he cleared his throat and changed his voice. "I'm Spiderman." He held his hand out to me.

"Why'd you change your voice? You sound like you've got a frog in your throat." He lowered his hand down when I didn't shake it.

"I'm trying to keep my identity a secret m'am." He saluted me and I gave him a weird look.

"Alright. I'm gonna go..."

"You shouldn't be walking around by yourself this late at night."

"I usually don't. My friend usually... It doesn't matter. I'll be fine." I walked around him.

"Well, I could escort you back to your place." He jogged up beside me. "It wouldn't be very nice of me to leave you by yourself in the dark."

"No offense but I don't know you and my dad always told me to not speak to strangers. I know that you're like some, vigilante... But you could murder me, I don't know you. I have mace." I reached my hand into my bag and he jumped back.

"Whoa, whoa! Okay! I'll let you go, I'm sorry. Have a nice night." He shot his web up into the air and disappeared.

Within a few minutes I safely made it back to my house and called it a night.

*the next day at school*

"Peter!" I hollered through the hall a I saw him and Ned standing at their lockers. Peter's eyes widened and he quickly whispered something to Ned. Ned smacked him and he turned around with a huge fake smile as I approached them.

"Heeeey, Amy! How's it going?" He asked nervously.

"Why'd you bail last night? I had to walk home by myself. My dad wasn't happy you ditched me, he's probably going to talk to May today." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Yeah, I'm sorry. I had this... Thing..." He looked over at Ned for help and Ned smiled.

"Peter was with me. We were..." Ned and Peter exchanged glances back and forth. "Watching..."
