Standing in the doorway of my office, I hear my cousin, Colton, say "Hey, Knight! Whatcha doing?"

I'm searching for any recently or not so recently, paroled criminals, matching the descriptions of Hannah's kidnappers.

I look up at him. "Stuff. Aren't you supposed to be out in the field today, King?"

"Ah, but a King needs his loyal Knight with him to go out to battle."

We love joking with each other about our similar last names.

"Oh! Colton I'm so sorry, I forgot!" I reply apologetically.

It was my turn to help him out in the field today, he's new here, and still needs someone to help out before we leave him to his own cases.

"It’s okay. Julia showed me more about paper work that I'll need to be filling out eventually anyway, so, I learned something."

I smile. That's Julia, always helping even when she's busy with her own work. She's so much like Hannah.

"Tell her thanks." I call after him as he walks out the door.

"Will do!"

I turn back to my work in front of me. So many people to go through- Oh! I found a match. The man, his name is Darrel Monroe. Hmm, where have I heard that name before? I look at the details on his file. He's 6'2, has dusty brown hair, green eyes, and tanned skin. He's 36, born on August 12th, 1978. He was previously charged for assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and breaking and entering in attempts to steal.

Well then, I guess it's clear that he would be capable of kidnapping someone, but, why? I haven't gotten any ransom notes. What reason does this man have for kidnapping my best friend?!

Luckily, these are just the kind of questions I find the answers to almost daily. So, hopefully, this won't be too hard.

Since I can't seem to find a match for the woman in any of the databases, I get to work looking into Darrel's history.

After a while of looking, I decide to go to his hometown to talk to any living relatives he has. He's from Alexandria, Louisiana. I book a flight for Julia and me. We will leave tomorrow morning.
