"Tony?" Peter groaned awake. The room was dark and quiet, except for a faint beeping sound. He yawned, and tried to get up, but nearly fell over due to dizziness. He his hands down on the bed to catch himself, but nearly fell over when there was an emptiness where his left hand was supposed to be.
"What?" Peter lifted his left arm, seeing a nub, wrapped in bandages. He took a moment to examine it, and didn't know if it was real or not.
He got up from the bed and left the med bay, still curious about his missing hand.
"FRIDAY? Where's Tony. And what time is it?" He whispered.
"Boss is in the common room. It was 4:28AM." Peter sighed. He hated waking up in the middle of the night. He just never liked the feeling.
The elevator ride down was quiet. The bright lights in it elevator blinded him, but FRIDAY shut them off. When he entered the common room, it was dark and quiet, but heard quiet snoring.
"Tony?" He whisper-yelled, but no one responded. He walked around a little more until he got to the couches. He saw a faint outline of Tony sleeping peacefully under his favorite blanket. It causes Peter to smile, like he was his father and Tony was the young helpless boy he took in.
He went over to the fridge and grabbed a yogurt cup. When he closed the door, a body was behind it. Nick Fury.
"Oh my god!" He gasped, not realizing what scared him, "wait, no! Stay away from me! Get away! I'm tired of this!" He ran away, but the corner of the marble counter stopped him. He groaned, but Nick kept walking forward.
"No! Please, please don't do this." He cried and whimpered, but something picked him up from behind him. He squirmed, assuming it was one of Nicks agents, but the smell and grip and overall sensation was familiar.
"Peter, calm down. No one is there. It's just me. It's Tony." He whispered to the teen. Peter continued to cry, still seeing Nick.
"No! Nick is here! He's right there! Do something!" Tony wouldn't let go. Peter tried to get free from him, but he was too weak to. A lamp from the common room clicked on and Steve sat up.
"Tony? What's going on?" But Tony didn't respond. He was too focused on calming Peter. Steve got up and stood opposite of Peter, blocking his way out.
Peters heart pumped faster than before and his breathing wouldn't slow down. Tony set him on the ground and he crawled right to his legs like a child. He was so focused on keeping Peter calm, he didn't even see the missing hand.
"Nick isn't here, it's just your mind. You're scared. You need to sleep. You should've stayed in bed." Tony wiped a tear from his cheek, and Peter nodded.
"Do you need me?" Steve asked. Tony looked up and shook his head, and he went back to the couch and fell asleep in seconds.
Tony and Peter took the elevator up to their floor. Although Peter should be hooked up to medical equipment, it was too late to get Bruce. Tony would worry about him either way.
"It's time to sleep." Tony said in a sing-songy voice. By then, Peter had gotten much more tired. He flopped down on the bed, causing Tony to chuckle. He covered him up with the blankets, and stared at him for A few seconds. He had already fallen asleep, and seeing him like this was relaxing to Tony. He had never seen Peter be so scared like he was before.
He kissed his forehead and left. Instead of going to his own room, he went to his lab. He found a computer, and began researching Nick Fury. This whole situation seems fishy to him. There has to be something behind this. He's being controlled by aliens, or maybe is one.
As morning continued, light shines through the giant windows. His lab flowed orange, then yellow, then became bright. It was a nice day out, considering it's December.
At 9:58AM, FRIDAY told he was needed downstairs. Since it was Natasha who needed him, he went right away. If it was anyone else besides Steve Peter, he would've stayed.
"What? Is something wrong?" He questioned.
"Someone is here."
"Who?" Many names popped into his head, but this one wasn't one of them.
"Maria Hill."
Kinda short chapter, hope you like❤️
