CHAPTER 2
So I come to Bryan's house on a Saturday night. I was about at the end of their path to the door. And as I walk I saw Maddie, in tears. She saw me, "Oh Michael.." ran to me and hugged me.
"Whoa! What's wrong? What happened?" I asked with a shock.
"He... B-Bry... Bryan was--... *sobs*" she replied.
"What? Was it Bryan? What did he do?" I asked curiously.
"He was kissing another girl. He was cheating on me again! I saw him with her when I entered his house and I think she's a Junior. I'm so tired of getting hurt so I broke up with him." she said.
"But isn't today your anniversary?" I asked.
"Yeah, but that doesn't matter anymore cause me and Bryan are over." she replied.
As I calm her down...
"Could you walk me home? I'm scared to walk alone cause it's late at night. And I could really use some company." she asked.
"Um.. Sure." I replied
As we were walking, Maddie told me stories of the other times Bryan cheated on her.
"All this time, when he cheats on me he just says sorry and I give him another chance. And I think it was actually stupid of me to do that. I should've broke up with him the first time he cheated. But I loved him too much so I just keep on giving him chances." she said. "It just hurts too much I can't handle it anymore." she continues. "Can you promise me one thing?" she asked.
"Sure, what's that?" I asked
"I know you're his friend. And for sure he'll ask help from you to help him to get me back.. So promise me that you'll say no when he asks you to?" she requested.
"I-i..." I said.
"Please?" she cut me off
"Umm... Sure.." I said.
"Thanks!" she said and finally smiled. "Well here's my house. Thanks for walking with me.. I really appreciate it." she said with a smile.
"Yeah sure, anytime." I said with a smile
"Goodnight" she said and waved goodbye.
"Goodnight" I replied and waved back.
Tonight, I didn't expect all that happened. First she hugged me, then we talked for the first time. And I promised her something. And no matter what I'll keep that promise
NEXT DAY
*school bell rings*
"Michael..." Bryan walked up to me
"Hey.." I said
"Listen... I--" he said.
"Stop." I cut him off
"Do you know already?" he asked.
"Yeah, I know everything. And let me guess.. You're going to ask help from me to get her back, am I right?" I said.
"Dude, please! You gotta help me." he said
"No.. I made a promise to Maddie." I said.
"You talked to her?" he asked.
"Yeah. That same night when she saw you with another girl at your house. She told me everything." I said.
"But----" he said
"No! You've already hurted her way too much!" I said.
"What's it for you?!" he asked.
"It's because I love her!!" I yelled.
Bryan's mouth formed a small 'O'
"I've been in love with her since Freshman year. Do you know how lucky you were that you had her?! Of all the guys who likes her, SHE CHOSE YOU. She chose you, Bryan. But you weren't sincere enough to realize that huh? Because you were all busy flirting with other girls and you weren't contented with Maddie. You chose to hurt her. Well she doesn't deserve a guy like you. She deserves so much better." I said and stormed off.
While I was walking Maddie came up to me
"Hey! so did he asked you?" she asked.
"Yeah. But I turned him down like I promised you." I replied.
"Really? Thanks Michael!!" she said with a smile. "C'mon, let me introduce you to my friends!" she said and grabbed my hand.
"Girls! Meet Michael. Michael, meet Jasmine, Billy and Rose." she said to them.
They looked at me and smiled. And I smiled back.
