MADDIE'S P.O.V.

So Michael told me that he wants to meet my family... Well, I lost my mom when I was about 4 years old. She got in a car accident.

My mom was driving home from work, she actually called dad and talked to me that night and said she was on the way home and I was jumping happily because she said she has a surprise for me and Jake. Before we put the phone down she reminded me of how much she loves me and my brother and she also told me to always watch my brother and take care of him. So after that we said I love you to each other, Jake wasn't able to speak that much yet because he was just one year old. So after that I gave the phone to dad. They talked a little then dad put the phone down.

A few minutes later, we get a call from the cops saying mom got in a car accident. She was about to turn then suddenly a big truck was approaching so The truck hit mom's car and the car flipped. Me, dad and Jake went to the location where the accident happened as fast as we could. But dad made sure to drive safe because Jake and I was in the car with him. When we got to the location, dad went out of the car with tears almost coming out of his eyes and told me whatever happened we should stay in the car and I should watch Jake. Right timing when we got there the ambulance came and rushed mom to the hospital. While dad was talking with the police, I was watching him. I can see he's about to cry, I can see his eyes getting teary.. And then suddenly he just couldn't handle it and cried in front of the police. Dad is the bravest man I know, when I was little and when I get scared he told me to always be strong and it's not real and he also told me to always pray. That was one thing mom and dad taught me and Jake. To always pray.

After that dad wiped his tears a bit and thanked the police and went back in the car. While he walking his way over to the car he continued to wipe his tears. When he got in the car, he hugged me and Jake and kissed our foreheads. By that time I can tell dad was really upset. I've never seen dad like that before. After that we went to the hospital. When we got there, we saw mom in the operating room. Her head was damaged really hard. We waited for atleast two or three hours. Finally the doctor came out and talked to dad. The doctor said that mom didn't make it. They said that mom's head was really damages and that they tried their best then the doctor said he was very sorry after that, the doctor patted dad's shoulder and left. When the doctor left, dad just broke down. He was crying and crying. I went to dad and when we saw me he wiped his tears and tried not to show to me that he was crying. I told him that it was okay to cry because mom died. And I knew how much mom meant to dad and how much he loves her.

It was hard for dad to move on.. But he did after a few years. But he wasn't as happy as he was when mom was still alive. So me and Jake tried to understand him a lot more because we knew this was hard for him.

So now it's just me, my little brother Jake and my dad. We had Jake when I was three years old. Jake and I are not really that close how Michael and his family is close. Jake grew up without knowing our mom. All he has is this picture of her in his room in a frame beside his bed. Jake didn't knew mom that much because she died when he was still one year old. We both were very young at that age. Dad and I aren't really close like how we are before. Before we would play tea parties, he would wrestle me and tickle me a lot. I miss those days. But with Jake, he was different. I'm guessing one reason why Jake isn't that much close with our dad is because Jake didn't experience to have fun or play or to spend time with dad when he was little. After mom died, dad is all this serious type. He isn't the fun dad I used to know and play with when I was little. He changed ever since that accident happend.

"Hey dad.. Can I talk to you for a second?" I asked him with a bit of nervousness in my voice.

"Sure sweetie, was is it?" he said.
