Always in between: Who's side to choose. Chapter 2

A man with short red, messy hair and short facial hair walks carefully through the forest. He is looking for something, but for what? The man walks carefully as if he doesn't want to be seen. 

Then suddenly, a silent arrow shot exactly in front of the man in a tree. 

Immediately the man looks alarmed around him. 

"Who's there?" the man asks. "Show yourself!" 

"It wasn't suppose to hit you,"the man hears. "I thought it was something else." 

"Something else? Show yourself so I know who made this remark!" 

"I can't do anything about it. I just hoped that you weren't Allan a Dale,' Allan hears and sees someone in black com from behind a tree. 

Allan wants to walk towards the person in black but stops because he sees that the bow and arrow from that person is pointed towards him. 

"How do you know my name?" Allan carefully goes with his hand in his pocket without being noticed. 

"Because I know you Allan."

Suddenly Allan throws what he has in his pocket. It is a trowing knife, but at the same time the man in black shoots an arrow making the knife rotate 180 degrees so the man can hold the knife safe. 

"And I hoped that I never had to see you again." and with those words the man turns around and walks away. 

"Stay!" Allan calls. He wants to know who that guy is.

Finn climbs in a tree and sits on a branch. She puts her black thin scarf down. Why he? From all the men she can encounter. And when she sees him, she is the shadowman. She musn't think about that. She must make sure that Amy gets something to eat. 

Suddenly an arrow is shot past her. It surprised Finn what makes her fall from the branch. In her fall she puts back her scarf for her mouth and ends up on hands and feet on the ground. 

Finn looks up and sees Allan stand with bow and arrow aimed at her. 

"You are the Shadowman aren't you?" 

Finn keeps quiet and let the throwing knife of Allan fall on the ground. She can't get her bow and arrow because Allan is to focused on her. 

"Drop your weapons has no meaning if you don't drop all your weapons." 

Finn gives no response when she stands up and turns away from him. 

She hears that Allan shoots an arrow towards her. She dodges is easily, but she didn't counted on the speed of Allan what turns out for her to lay on the ground. 

Allan overpowered her and holds her wrists firmly against the ground so she can't go away. 

"If I want I can take you to the sheriff so he can finally arrest the Shadowman." 

"Do it! If you are certain enough that I am him,"Finn says and looks away. 

"But first I want to know who you are." 

Finn tries to stop Allan, but fails because his grip on her wrists makes her stop.

In a few seconds puts Allan Finn's scarf and mask down so he sees her face. Little in shock because of who he sees. He loosens his grip on the wrists of Finn because of that. 

"Finn! Finn or Rochdale! "says Allan. Still he can not believe that she lies on the ground. 

"Get of me Allan!"says Finn angry. 

No response from Allan. Finn pushes him of her so he falls on the ground. 

"I don't need to see you this close anymore!" 

"Aren't you afraid that I'll go to the sheriff and tell him that you are the Shadowman?" Allan asks. 

Finn ignores him and stand up. 

"You are scared huh?" He says while he is standing up and walking towards Finn. 

"I scared?"says Finn and watching him like he has said something silly. "And why would the sheriff believe you when you say that I am the Shadowman?" 

Allan looks angry and before he can say anything: "The sheriff knows me and a woman who would be the Shadowman?" says it Finn like he knew. 

She's got a point but she didn't have to say it like that. On the other hand... 

"Are you the Shadowman or not?" 

"That is something I know and you don't." Finn says.  

And in a few seconds Allan is knocked unconscious by Finn.

"And when I was in my normal clothes again my father asked for me,"explains Finn to Marian. 

"He hasn't given you that bow, has he?" Marian asks. 

Finn shows Marian her bow and tells her that her father came back with it from the Holy Land. She also tells why the bow looks like that. 

"Father told me that Robin also wanted te return to England." Finn says. 

"He will only complicate things when he is back." says Marian curtly. 

"Especially for you." That came out her mouth to quickly so Finn keeps her hand before her mouth. 

"I'm out of here." Marian says while standing up. 

"Wait!" says Finn while standing next to her. 

Finn can't say anything because someone knocks on her door. It's sir Edward, Marian's father. He walks in and tells them that he and Marian are going home. 

When they left the room Finn sighs. She can't speak about Marian and Robin and what they had in the past. 

It's difficult if you know that they are Finn's best friends. 

Sometimes she has the idea that she in between.
