Anxious Hearts...

Aditya was in his apartment when Abhijeet called him to explain the situation. Not wasting time any further he urgently picked up his car keys before moving out while on the other hand Sanskar entered the conference room without any care and the the board meeting for the City Z project continued.

Tanmay was restless as he searched for Ragini.

“Ragini”

“Ragini. Can you hear me?”

He called once again but there was no response.

“Dammit!!!” he cursed frustrated. His hair were a mess due to the number of times he moved his hand through them.

The sun was about to set and it would be hard to find her in the night. After Sanskar’s refusal to come for help the only thing to do now was to wait for Abhijeet and Aditya.

Like this another half an hour passed away and Tanmay was beginning to get worried. He brought Ragini with him at his own responsibility and if something happened to her he would be the only one to bear the consequences.

He was about to lose hope when he saw a car heading in his direction. A worried and furious Aditya walked over to him and he mentally prepared himself for the scolding he was about to get.

“Are you an idiot or what? Is it so difficult for you to take care of her?”

Aditya was beyond angry. He has always longed for a sibling but due to his mother’s weak body she was unable to bear a child for the second time and when he met Ragini for the first time he considered her as his younger sister. Now that she was in danger he was furious.

He took deep breaths to calm down for the moment but before he could say anything further a painful scream echoed throughout the area.

Both the men’s eyes widened in realization as they rushed towards the direction the scream seemed to be coming from. Their heart thudding in anxiety.

Their ears perked up at the sound of loading machine and they immediately followed the sound.

“Ragini”

“Ragu”

They called hoping for a response. The sun has set not long ago and it was getting difficult to see clearly due to darkness.

“Use flashlight. You’ve your phone with you right?” Aditya advised.

“Ye- Ragini!!” Tanmay was about to respond when he spotted an unconscious Ragini lying a couple of feet away from the loading machine surrounded with numerous cement bags.

Location : City Hospital

“Doctor how is she?”

Omkar Thakur asked the moment he saw the doctor coming out of the ICU.

“No need to worry Mr. Thakur. Other than a minor scratch Ms. Ragini is completely fine. She must’ve fainted due to shock. You can take her home when she gains conscious.” Hearing the doctor everyone sighed in relief.

“You heard the doctor right. Now calm down okay.” Abhijeet advised looking over at his best friend who was getting thin with each passing day. His heart ached for this father-daughter pair.

“You need to drink some water. Wait I’ll bring it for you.” Saying so he was about to move when he saw Tanmay coming towards them with three glasses of water.

“I-I thought everyone would need it.” Tanmay clarified. Abhijeet just nodded his head in understanding.

“Sanskar?”

“Where?”

“Behind your back.” Tanmay pointed.

“Why are you here?” Abhijeet asked glaring at Sanskar who was heading towards the hospital’s exit with his manager, Mr. Khanna.

“Vo- actually sir we-“ Mr. Khanna tried to answer before he was ruthlessly cut off.

“Did I ask you? Or is your boss now so busy that he didn’t have time for his father.” Abhijeet taunted glaring at Sanskar.

“Business.” Sanskar’s non chalant answer only fueled his rage.

“Have you no shame left in you? That girl could’ve been seriously injured today. I asked you to go to the construction site to help instead you refused and switched off your phone.” He was about to explode in anger when he saw his words didn’t have any impact on Sanskar.

“Calm down Jeet. It’s okay.” Omkar Thakur tried to make peace between the two.

“It’s not okay Om. There is always a limit to everything and today I’m done with him. Go Sanskar. It seems like you’ve always been like this it was me who thought maybe we can work over our father-son relationship but I was wrong.”

Everyone watched as Sanskar walked away emotionless but there was one person who was still lost in his own thoughts.

One single thought was disturbing Aditya since long , “ With so many heavy weight cement bags how is Ragini unharmed and suffered no serious injury at all? Strange.”
