No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path

A regular knock on my door gets me out of my thoughts and makes me look up. My father. "Anna, come down with me."
His dark brown eyes were fixed on me, he smiled, hid his sadness, and he was very good at it. He wore his suit and combed his gray hair to one side.
Nodding, I get up from my bed and put my plate on the dresser next to it.

My dad holds the door open for me and together we go downstairs.
He put his hand on my shoulders as he always did when we were together. My dad was a lovely man when nobody was looking. "I want to introduce you to your new bodyguard," he said heading downstairs before opening the door to one of our living rooms. My last personal protector has become too old for his job and we had to dismiss him with a heavy heart.

"Good day, I'm Ethan Hanks and I'll be your bodyguard for the next few weeks Miss" although he was visibly nervous, scratching the back of his head, he tried to be professional with blond, medium-length hair combed back behind. Under  his black suit he wore a gray undershirt, with a red tie tied around it and a small microphone on his ear, and I nodded to him. "This is James and he's going to be as already said, your bodyguard for the next few weeks. He has only been in this field for a few weeks - " a few weeks does not sound good but father noticed my doubts and kept talking. "-But he has graduated as one of the best and I trust him to protect you with his life and abilities. Also, I thought it would be a little more enjoyable if your bodyguard was not so much older than you. This is less noticeable. He will keep you safe"

He will keep you safe

It was very hard for me to really believe this sentence. What would happen if now suddenly a lot of murderers burst in here and try to kill me. Could a single man really protect me? One thing that always makes me sad when I think about it is the fact that I'm never really safe.
Nothing really can protect me from all those men out there. I already had so many bodyguards but I did not feel so secure and never worried. Especially after the incident with my mother.

Unfortunately, my father does not know who it was.
Many of our pursuers have still made bets on our lives. So they are pushed not only for revenge, but also for greed. Because of there reasons I am not even allowed to own a phone.

I nodded to him once, lost in thought. I would really like to go back upstairs to my room. So far I have not really had a personal band with any of my bodyguards. We only had a professional relationship. And I didn't want to change that, because if one of my bodyguards were hurt, which has already happened, then it would be less painful.

I did never introduce myself to these guys, because I was pretty sure they knew exactly who I was. But I have never liked this thing with the bodyguards. I am uncomfortable being watched all the time.

"Ethan will accompany you every day. He will also drive you to your dance classes every day and then wait for you in an adjoining room " I glanced up at my father until he persisted. "But I think I do not have to explain the rules to you anymore. That was probably a repeat for you, Ethan" he laughed at himand patted his shoulder once. Ethan, as professional as he was, merely shook his head approvingly. The bell made my head wander to the door.

"That must be Jessica. Welcome her" my father motioned for me to open the door. The first thing I see is the radiant face of Jessi, who immediately wraps me around with her arms.

"Come here and let yourself be hugged, oh God, you'll always be prettier." Flattered, I put both my arms around her shoulders.

After about a few seconds, she broke away from our embrace and I opened my mouth. "How was New York?"

"Great. Simply great "she is something out of breath. "This-this-huge building. Just sensational. And guess what happened- " She turned to my father, who also received her. "I got the job," she exclaimed happily, my father and I congratulated her, and we agreed to celebrate. I do not know what job she was talking about, but still smiled. Jessi was my aunt. Definitely very talkative and old-fashioned.

That evening she managed to make me forget about my mother and we had a good time. It was awesome to be back together. Dad even allowed Ethan to drink a glass with them.

And when we were done, I made my way back to my floor. I threw the bedspread aside and laid down in my cozy
Bed.

The ringing of my phone suddenly brings me out of my sleep. It was my dance teacher. "Hello?" I tiredly said.

„Oh, Anna, have you already slept? I'm sorry. I just wanted to make sure you're here tomorrow." She sounded wide awake and music played in the background. I suspect that she was practicing in the studio right now. She liked to dance in the evening.
"Yes Danjela. I will come to class tomorrow."
"Perfect. Then I'll let you sleep. See you tomorrow .. And remember the music! "

"Goodbye Danjela" I sighed. Danjela was my only real friend. She was the only one my dad lets me meet.

With the thought of tomorrow, I fell asleep
