M Countdown' admits to calculation error + win goes to Oh My Girl instead of NU'EST
Mnet's 'M Countdown' made an error with score calculations.
On the May 16 episode, Oh My Girl with "The Fifth Season" and NU'EST with "BET BET" were nominated for 1st place. The boy group with a score of 7,668 was announced the winner of the week. However, following the broadcast, fans pointed out that Oh My Girl's social media score was miscalculated.

After validation, 'M Countdown' announced there was indeed an error and Oh My Girl is the actual winner of the week.
The producers stated, "We have confirmed an error in the process of entering social media scores. We have recalculated the chart and the ranking for the third week of May has been corrected. The winner on May 16, 2019, (episode 619) is Oh My Girl."
'M Countdown' apologized to the fans, NU'EST, and Oh My Girl for the mistake and said, "We will be more cautious with chart calculations to prevent such incidents from occurring again."
The corrected chart shows Oh My Girl received 2,000 points - not 1,800 - in the social media category, adding up to a final score of 8,117.

This is worst! It's like passing the board exam and later on you'll find out that you actually failed.
I feel bad for the both group. Mnet's carelessness should be blamed. I'm sorry, I know they fixed things but I just can't help it while looking at their faces when they won.
I heard it's Oh My Girl's first win. You know that they are very sensitive for that as they waited for so long to get that. And thinking that Oh My Girl's first win is ruined by Mnet's fault I felt really really sad about it. I want to see a clip of Nu'est giving the trophy to Oh My Girl with smile on their faces. In that way I'll know both groups are okay 😭
