I'd be lying if I said it was the sun that woke me up, the birds chirping and my sparky little dog licking my hand. That's not how life is, the morning starts more dreary, unfortunately. The shrieking alarm yells at me to get up. My muscles are stiff and my eyes are sleepy, 5 hours of sleep a night just doesn't cut it. I'd also be lying if I said the aroma of fresh pancakes and sweet maple syrup were traveling down into my room, and encouraging me to get ready. Instead I smell stale coffee, that I of course drink anyways. I throw my school junk into my bag and grab a couple dollars, in case I decide to eat lunch at school. Realizing its time to leave I run back down to my room and throw on a black hoodie and some jean shorts. My mom yells "come on Katherine, were going to be late again." I throw my bag and myself into the little green car. The sun peeks up and as I sip the last of my stale coffee and I can't help but wonder what the point is.
